After my original auger motor gave out, this replacement brought my Pit Boss back to life. Installation was straightforward — it fit perfectly and didn’t require any special tools or modifications. Once I powered it up, the motor ran smoothly and consistently, feeding pellets just like the original (maybe even better). The sound level is normal — you can hear it running, but it’s not loud or distracting. The build quality feels sturdy and durable, so I’m confident it’ll hold up well over time. My only minor complaint is that it didn’t come with screws, which meant a quick trip to the toolbox. Otherwise, I’m very satisfied. If your grill stops feeding pellets and you’re wondering whether to replace the motor or the whole unit, this is definitely worth trying first.

Works great for direct replacement for pellet grill. Very easy to install. Will update on the longevity of the unit, I’ve only used my grill a couple times since install, but so far it does great igniting the pellets.

Note: if you’re here because you got the fault, clean the thermostat inside, it might help as well. I got a few extra cooks out of mine before I had to replace the igniter. Fit my grill perfectly and probably cheaper than OEM. Watch the Pit Boss videos to do the install. It’s really easy but if you pull the cables out without a pull string, you’ll be in a for a major project. Probably a “take your whole grill apart” project. It takes about 30 mins to install, maybe an 1 beer project. Other than that works great and has been lighting/burning like a champ. I like that there are 2 so I’ll be ready to go when I need to replace.

Seems to work good, I’ve run my pellet grill about 20 hours now since installing this part without issue. The only difference I have noticed from the original is that this auger motor is quite a bit louder. You can hear the motor kick on and run from about 30 feet away. Obviously 20 hours isn’t a lot for a smoker so we’ll see how it holds up over time but even if it only lasts a year I’m happy with it for the price

Ordered this before taking my pellet grill apart. Went to the lake with the replacement part in hand, discovered my grill uses 2.5RPM auger motor. Still works on my grill, just not ideal as it will not work in the “smoke” setting because the auger is now too slow and it flames out. Have now ordered the right motor and this will serve as a spare in case of another failure. Motor works as it should…I just ordered the wrong one.
