Does just what it's supposed to.
I first thought it wasn’t working. When I tried to read the data, the output defaults to the last hour of readings. To see the data on the computer screen, be sure to click the “Search” button; otherwise, you see none of the recorded data. For any data beyond the last hour, enter the start and ending date and time you want, then “Search”. The instructions weren’t completely clear on this. Or maybe my feeble brain wasn’t.At any rate, it does just what it says – records temperature and humidity at whatever time interval you choose. The data can be downloaded to a spreadsheet and the graph to a .jpeg file. I set it to record every 5 minutes. No, I have no need to know the conditions that often; it’s just that it makes a smooth curve on the graph. Recording at that rate, it should record for a month before I have to download and save the records (I’ve had it 15 days, and the indicator shows slightly less than half the memory is used up). So recording at a more reasonable 15- or 30-minute interval should give you 3 or 6 months of temperature and humidity records! The battery is supposed to last a year. Quite remarkable, I’d say. And there’s no start-stop; it records continuously, whether you want it to or not…!UPDATE -- 5 MONTHS LATER --Well gang, it records a whole lot more than I calculated before. It's recorded over 51,000 temperature/humidity readings every 5 minutes WITHOUT overwriting any of the earlier recordings yet.

1 Failed on first use
Bought 2 of these to record the temperature and humidity in my house while away for 6 months with the power off. Placed one on the main floor and one in the basement and set them to take a reading every 30 minutes. The one on the main floor worked perfectly and I was able to retrieve the data but the one in the basement had a blank screen and no data was found when connected to the computer. I switched the battery with the working unit but no change. Bottom line - one worked perfectly and the other failed.

Logs temperature and humidity. Exactly what I needed
I work for a painting company and need to keep a log of the temperature that the material is stored in our shop for warranty purposes. This works great! It logs anywhere from 1 minute to 4 hours (240 minutes). I only needed to log twice a day, but 4 times works as well. It is very convenient to download to MS Excel and save by the month. The only downside that I have is setting the time it records. Once you connect to your computer, select the logging time and hit save, it starts at that time. (example: 06:37:42) I wanted it on the hour: 06:00:00. While connected to the computer, I was able to start it on the hour/min/sec by counting down the seconds and hitting save at the exact second (note: it uses the time stamp of the computer you are plugged into). Unfortunately that is every 4 hours for me. It took a couple of days to get it to read 06:00:00, 10:00:00, 14:00:00 etc.

Inaccurate device, poor software
1. The software that comes with it is awful, although you can export data to a .csv file and actually do something with it. It's hard to understand in English (don't know about the other language settings). One star off for lousy software.2. When I download data it sometimes won't find the mosts recent several hours of data. One more star off for that.3. Most importantly, the temperature reading lags the actual temperature by up to an hour. So when my thermostat and another independent thermometer get to 70 degrees this unit will take 30-60 more minutes to get there. Two stars off for this terrible inaccuracy.4. My unit came with a temperature offset from three other thermometers of 5 degrees. (Fortunately, you can adjust for this, if you can find that setting in the software.). No more stars left to take off. . .
