Grohe is still good product; beware of counterfeit!
I would never in my life thought that someone is making fake Grohe shower hoses, but I got 2 hoses, one from a third-party seller, and another sold by Amazon directly and costs 70% more, and the third party one is clearly a counterfeit. I suspect many of the bad reviews are because the reviewers received counterfeits, especially if they purchased from third-party sellers. Like other reviewers, I got a replacement for my broken Grohe shower hose from a third party seller. The broken one had been in use for 9 years, with multiple showers a day. When it arrived, I was sorely disappointed by the flimsiness. Upon closer examination, I found a typo on the back of the packaging, that says "shpwer" instead of "shower". This tips me off that I may have a counterfeit, but I have no other point of reference. So I took my chance and order another one, sold directly by Amazon and is a lot more expensive. With 2 hoses in hand, I can clearly tell that one is fake, and that the genuine one is of MUCH higher quality. I posted some photos with both side-by-side, and also weighed both, so you can see the differences (and also check yours) There is also a photo with the typo. Here are the differences from what I can tell * Packaging - As I said, the fake one has a typo on the back. On the front, the genuine has much clearer graphics. I am guessing the fake one probably is a scanned image of the real thing, and used a lower quality printer. The sharpness of print is obvious when they are compared side by side. The fake one also has screw-on plastic caps on both ends to prevent the hose's screw cap from falling out - more on this later. * Weight and length - the real one is almost 25% heavier than the fake one (388g vs 311g minus the plastic shell, which is probably a couple grams). The contrast is stark when I held them. Also if you look at the photo that has two ends with different length, yup, the real one is a bit longer too. * Construction and function - As mentioned before, the fake one has screw-on caps on both ends, because there is nothing to hold the hose's screw caps in place and it will just fall off from the ends. The real one has rubber gaskets on both ends, not only to hold the caps in place but more importantly, to seal the connection. When I connected the fake one, one end just leaks no matter how much teflon tape I used and how much I tightened. With the real one, just a little bit of tightening and voila, it's sealed. No tape needed. Also, if you look carefully at the stamped logo at the end of the hoses, the fake one is light, uneven, and of the wrong aspect ratio. I wouldn't be so angry about the situation had I not just gotten another shower hose for $7 (for a soon-to-be renovated shower) and feel that the quality is pretty much the same with the fake one, but the fake one is costing 5 times more. Grohe is still a good quality product, and there may be some good sellers out there trying to unload their stock at a low price. I hope the photos help if you need to differentiate that from other unscrupulous sellers trying to fool people. As for the fake shower hose, it went back - thanks Amazon for free returns.

Its a hose. It gets the water from Point A to Point B. And it doesn't leak.
Does just what a hose is supposed to do. It gets the water from the outlet to the handset. And it does it without leaking. Plus, its a nice color that goes well with my chrome hardware. What more could you ask for?

Perfect Replacement
Have a Groge hand shower hose that needed a replacement hose. Good fit. Works very well. Nice color match.

Grohe replaced mine for free.
I have four similar Grohe hoses in my home. Two are in showers, one is in a pull out kitchen faucet and the last one is attached to a shower wand in our jacuzzi/tub. Three out of the four have broken (leaked, cracked, snapped, etc.) in the last ten years. I used to just go buy new ones until I had trouble matching the color of a brushed nickel finished shower wand in our MBR shower. I got on the Grohe website to see if they could source the part, and didn't find it. So, I sent a message via their customer service email/message portal and a little less than three weeks later received a complimentary replacement. I give them a five on customer service and support for shipping me a new and somewhat costly replacement with absolutely no hassle. They lose a half a star because the hose they shipped as a replacement is bright chrome and not nickel as I had requested. That said, it was free and it actually looks pretty good installed. I also do not think they make the matching color for mine (nickel) any more, so this may have been unavoidable. Now, our first hose in the MBR shower lasted about eight years before leaking near the connector, and it received heavy use. The others that failed lasted less than five years. I would want all my hoses to last around ten or more years. There is only one hose in the four installations in my home that has a chance of that at this point, which means that at best I can only give them a 25% score on reliability. Thus, they lose a half star on reliability, which would have been a whole star loss except that they did replace the defective hose. In summary: My initial reliability for these hoses is better than what other reviewers have had, but still not acceptable. The replacement policy of Grohe does a lot to offset this issue for me, and I would think it would for others, but you have to invest the effort to write to Grohe and then be patient to receive the free replacement. Hope this helps.

easy to install
I put this purchase off for months thinking it would be difficult to install. It was not. Simply unscrew both ends of the old hose and screw in the new hose. Hand tighten. No other product needed. Works well and I think it is better than the original because it is twist-free. Thank you!

Quick fix for leaky handheld shower hose
Did the trick....25 year old Grohe hose finally started to leak. Ten minute job with a pair of pliers that even a novice can handle.

Fantastic quality product
This is one of the few fantastic quality shower hoses remaining on the market. Grab your copy while still available :) Heavy and flexible, quality metal and great feel. The only improvement I'd desire is to have longer threaded section to better fit into wall union, as you can see on the photo. Yes, it is expensive but worth it if you can afford one.

Broke soon after purchasing
It didn't last long. Plastic tube inside tore away from its housing leaving it useless.
