Cuisinart 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, DCC-1500TG, Black

This is at least two years old and is an excellent choice. Makes great coffee, keeps it warm for an hour or so and shuts itself off. Don’t forget to buy filters. They make all the different in taste, if you forget to replace them.

Our last coffee maker, also a Cuisinart, bit the dust. My coffee-deprived brain was NOT ok and needed a replacement ASAP. We knew for sure we wanted another Cuisinart, but didn't necessarily want to spend an arm and a leg if we didn't have to. Many models have all the "bells and whistles" with different temperature and brew strength settings (our last one did), this one doesn't--and we're ok with that. It's a great price point compared to other models, and does everything we need it to do--which is brew the blessed elixir that is coffee. Features: -Water level indicators inside tank -Digital clock and programmable auto-start function -Auto shut-off -Cleaning/Descaling function -Brew Pause -Nylon filter Appearance: I really like the black finish and the rounded base as opposed to our last one, which had a stainless steel finish and a boxy, bulky base. The tank opening is nice and large, as well, so no worries about spillage while filling with water. Haven't used the programmable auto-start, but did test it out after delivery and it was easy to use and worked as intended. Also haven't used the cleaning function yet, so can't speak on how well it works. I'll update the review after first use. Like other Cuisinart coffee brewers, this machine beeps when it finishes brewing, and again when it shuts off. The auto-off function is set for 2 hours, and if you want to keep your brew warm longer all you need to do is turn it back on. The reusable nylon filter is great, but like all reusable filters, can be a bit finicky to empty and clean, so we still use compostable filters in the basket to speed up cleanup. My favorite feature is the Brew Pause--the basket for the filter has a spout that has to be depressed by the carafe to initiate flow, so when I'm too impatient for my caffeine fix to wait for the full brew cycle to finish, all I have to do is pull the carafe out of the machine and brew flow pauses until the carafe is reinserted. Genius. All-in-all, very happy with our purchase! 10/10 recommend.

I love it because it has revolutionized my morning in that I can now program my coffee maker to go off while I'm sleeping. I also love that it has a reusable and permanent filter. Two very minor issues though. 1: I find it oddly noisy. However, I haven't had or been around a drip coffee maker in years (I've been doing pour-overs or french press for years), so maybe this is typical? It's only noisy when brewing and the sound level is totally do-able. I just find it odd.... And 2: Mine seems to indicate that it has to be cleaned.... Constantly. Impossible, as it's still relatively new. I called the manufacturer and they recommended I take it up with the seller. I chose to ignore it instead. I figure I'll clean it when I choose or remember to. Seems like the path of least resistance that has me not apart from my new coffee maker! Makes a great cup of coffee. I do recommend it.

Simple to use. Makes great coffee. The programmable option is the best feature of this item and is easy to use.

I bought this maker months ago,felt like I really needed to take the time and write a review. This is the worst tasting coffee from a maker I've ever had. I have and use a nesspresso maker daily and wanted another maker for company prior, I had a ninja and it started leaking so choose this cuisinart( I've had other models of cuisinart that made excellant coffee) big mistake. There is no way to measure the water,I use the pot and pour water in this narrow opening,coffee is luke warm at best but its all about the taste,I've used all different sorts of really good coffee and it makes no difference its horrible. Its also very large takes up counter space bright black plastic.Nothing complicated about using it,just disappointed and a hassle to box and send back. I'm going to donate to my local garbage place they have a table for used items. My recommendation is not to buy this model if you like a good hot cup of coffee!

If your looking like I was for a basic unit without all the hastle of the single cup machines, this is the one that deliver's. Mine is Black with Silver round band around the brew pot. Very nice looking. They do come in white as well. You have clock timer that you can program to start whenever you want so you can wake up with a hot cup of coffee. This unit is easy to clean just run a coffee cleaner though the process once in a while and you are set.

This unit leaks when filed with water. The level must be precise, a bit too much water just spills out like over filling a cup. I have had other Cuisinart units and never had this issue. I would not have selected this unit if I was aware of this issue.
