Perfect Light for My Saltwater Tank!
Perfect Light for My Saltwater Tank! This light was perfect for my saltwater setup. I love the custom settings that let me set a schedule and timer, plus the adjustable light modes are really convenient. The build quality feels solid, and it’s a great value for the money. It fits my 15-gallon tank perfectly and lights it up beautifully. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable aquarium light!

Weirdly, it's the best light I can find.
On top of an 18x18x24 terrarium. This is both the cheapest and best light I've tried after buying at least 10. It's powerful for its size, doesn't run hot, the white looks natural, it has a 24hr timer that saves your schedule at power loss, ramp timer for lighting changes, you can schedule 5 different lighting scenes per day, and it has combined RGB lights instead of those goofy indivual red, green, and blue LEDs that reflect off the top and make weird colored spots at the bottom. Programming is a little awkward but simple once you get started and the remote makes it much less frustrating than other lights with awkward programming. You can hit the demo button after making your schedule to get a fast-forward preview of a day. Just buy it if you're considering it.

Great light at a very reasonable price
For the price, I can't complain. It has a great color spectrum, it's easily customizable and when there is a power loss, it retains all color and phase (sunrise, sunset, night) settings. My only grief is that a power loss, no matter how brief, means the time resets to 12:00am. To illustrate, if the power loss happens at 10am, and comes back at 10:02am, now the aquarium won't light up till 5pm (assuming lights were programmed to turn on at 7am). This is not the only timer equipped light in the market with this problem. in fact, all lights in the market (except the fancy bluetooth or wifi connected ones) have this issue. Why can't they give you the option to install a small watch battery to keep time memory! I would gladly spend 2 bucks every year and replace the battery. Yes, you can get a wifi smart plugs, have an Alexa routine, etc. But then, you lose all the sunrise, sunset, night light changing automation. Plus, most wifi plugs I know don't retain memory either in the event of a power loss, so what's the point! Tip: I'm not an experienced fish keeper. The lights, as factory programmed, are very intense. Probably not a huge issue if you dose CO2 but I had to dim everything to 50% to keep my tank from constantly having algae blooms. This is adequate for my 16 gallon Fluval Spec, which houses Amazon Swords, Anubias, Java Moss, Java Fern, Anacharis, Ludwigias, etc. These are plans that do OK with moderate to low lights. I'll close this review with "please, include the option to insert a battery to keep the time" - don't even include the battery! Make the product $10 bucks more expensive! I guarantee you, people will be thankful for it!

Good enough
It's great! Remote doesn't work right though. Neither does the 24/7. It tries though haha. I'm happy enough, it keeps my plants and fish alive

You deserve these.
Can’t beat this light for customized color and 24/7 cycle! I only wish they had a comparable option for tanks under 12” My 5.5gal and 15gal hex never looked better I’m admittedly obsessed with the sunrise/sunset mode, but it looks good in all of them and is fully customizable. The controls are tricky but the functionality is there and I’m willing to fight with controls to stay at this price point. Bought these to upgrade older generation basic white/blue Nicrew after acquiring a set up with a Fluval Aquasky and becoming spoiled with custom color settings 😅 Definitely scratches the itch, and if they’re anywhere as durable as the previous generations (my old lights are going strong at 3-8 years old) we’ll be set for a while

Two years old and still working great
Great light - this is the 5th light from Nicrew that I purchased. I have a 180 gal six-foot tank with two 48" lights in the middle and one 24" on each side to cover the six-foot-long tank. Each has a timer built into the canopy that cycles from setting 2 to setting 1 to full on in the morning and then in reverse in the evening - like the sun rising and falling. Setting 2 is a soft blue for the night. Every month or two I have to thin out the plants to keep them from taking over the tank from the fish. Only one light has gone out in the two years, but it turned out to only be the transformer and not the light. Very good purchase. This light also adds special effects like lightning storms. But I rarely use this.
