Would this work with a small, round pill that’s been cut in half?

Jorgensen Pet Piller works better. I got this one and the two pills my cat takes would not fit. It was worthless.

A small number of people said the product cause choking, mostly because the soft silicone tip fell. About the tip falling, I really think it's a very very small probability. Because when you install the soft tip correctly (there is a display of the tip installation in the main images, and there is the note in the text description), even if you pull it very hard, or even pull the translucent soft silicone tip to the white color, you can't pull it off (this power can lift a cat). You can try it! You may don't install the tip correctly and push the tip into the pet's throat too hard, causing the throat to jam the tip and drop it. But I think as long as you install the tip correctly, you can prevent the tip from falling and choking. Before you use it, try to test the firmness of the tip. Be patient and you'll use it well. If you really think it's unhelpful, you can return it.

Dangerous? Not at all. No worse than holding a pill in your hand and trying to get it down the back of their throat to swallow.
