This is misleading product page says 3mp camera on title but description says 1MP which is it?

This is a typical Amazon listing where you click on a 3MP camera system and you see other disk sizes and recording rates that you can choose from (1MP, 2MP, etc). I think you have to be very careful when making the final selection that you order the right one. I've installed more than 10 of these systems in our condominium community and they are of excellent quality. The menu settings say 3MP and otherwise I can't tell with the human eye.The price was right for us and the quality is excellent! It was easy to sync with the online app and I can see all 70+ cameras via my smartphone or tablet app. I strongly recommend either increasing the HDD size or using the motion sensing feature if you want more than a week's worth of video for 8 cameras at 3MP.What originally drew me to these cameras was the 1-wire POE approach. I did not want to be using a "Siamese-type" coax system with an additional power wire. I used Cat6 wire and made my own ends using a crimp tool and tested with a wire tester. I found I could install a 6 camera application in less than 2 evenings.I would definitely purchase again. Within 2 weeks after we put in our first system we caught people breaking in. the police were very impressed with the images we produced, and they held up in court.

Can you simultaneously record with 8 cameras? What's the maximum distance camera can be mounted away from unit?

Yes all channels will record simultaneously. POE is supported up to 328 ft through cat5 cable. If you make your own connections that's the max.

How easy is the system to install?

I found it very easy to install. Plug and plug. only thing is that the software of the recorder is not so friendly use. It can be better. total rate 8.
