1st experience with a straight edge razor
I’ve been a quandary with regard to buying a safety razor over the past several months. I’ve done research and got it down to two. I’ve been using electric razors for most of my life and I am a fan of them, however, I usually can not get a clean shave around my neck. I’ve used Gillette Mac 3 for years, and have even tried disposable razors for women’s legs for that purpose, but I just get tired of having to go over and over and over the same spot to get a close shave so my stubs don’t pillo my shirt collar. My final choice was Bevel safety razor. As soon as I received it, I raced to the bathroom to give it a try. To my delight I was able to shave my neck without a neck or problem on the first try, and it’s a close shave! The only thing that surprise me about a straight edge razor, you simply can’t dive in to the middle of your beard. I guess that’s from using electric razors most of my life. additionally I like to do a final cleaning with a razor after my electric shave and I never use shaving cream. So could I do it with a straight edge razor. Yes!

Very impressed!
Wow! I used to cut myself or get in grown hairs or irritate my skin shaving. I’ve tried every razor under the sun and am happy to say that this razor is the best one out there! Smooth, close shave without the bumps or blood!

Works beautifully
Glides well, easy to clean, covers the sides of the blade so you don't have to touch them. Really good design. Weight of the razor makes shaving easy

Great Shave, possible durability issue
This was the 1st razor I bought to try the switch to single edge blades after 25+ years of shaving with the big brand multi-bladed razors. After a week or two of getting used to it, I'd grown to really love this shave that this razor produces.I happily used this razor for 9 months, and then the threaded part of the handle stripped. I was kind of ticked off that something I spent $50 died after 9 months, but KEEP READING!Convinced that the switch to single edge was indeed where I wanted to stay, I bought a cheap $18 single edge razor handle. And THAT is when I really learned that this handle has something special about it. The cheaper razor handle just wasn't as smooth or comfortable as this Bevel brand had been. Had I purchased the cheap one outright, I probably would have switched back to multi razors. Fortunately, the handle of the cheap one fit the head of this Bevel model, and I really appreciated that this handle is something special! It's unfortunate that it stripped, BUT, I'm happily shaving with my centaur version of this razor. I guess I'd recommend it, but be careful not to overtighten it! It really produces a superior shave. Happy Shaving!

Clean shave for a black male face
Many people seem to doubt Bevel as a brand ,but I've had nothing but good experience with them,. This razor worked well for me, I just need to find a good post shave regiment, but I'd recommend these.

Worst razor burn I've ever had
Worst razor burn I've ever had with a safety razor. There is better products out there for the cost.

Nice safety razor
40 years ago, my Dad gave me my first razor, which was a safety razor. Somewhere in my 20's, I switched over to using cartridge razors after a brief and disappointing experiment with electric shavers. I have a tough beard so electrics were more prone to yank hairs out rather than cut them. No bueno. As cartridge razors advanced through the years, they've tried to cram more and more blades closer and closer together which really just make them easier to clog with hair. They're also super expensive to replace the cartridges and I decided to go back to a simple safety razor recently. This one is decent, basic and definitely does the job on coarse hair. The blades are as sharp as the Devil's tongue. There is a learning curve with safety razors and the 30 degree angle. It's best to let the weight of the razor do the work and not press against your face too hard when you shave. Also, be mindful of any moles or bumps on your face as nicking them can and will happen with safety razors. It will take a little practice. I'm not sure if they still make styptic pencils for stopping bleeding but it might not be a bad idea to pick one up, too.

Eh
Eh - didn't really reduce razor bumps and increased knicks.
