Perfect for my needs
I ordered 2 of these and they are working great for me. I teach a cooking class to developmentally disabled adults we need more cook areas. I order some digital hot plates that were a total bust. So ordered these because they were not digital or induction. They are great! The only downside is the metal housing under the cast iron burner gets hot while cooking. It's not enough to burn with just a quick touch, but you definitely wouldn't want to hod on to it for more than a second or two. They work so well that this is not a deal breaker for me. I love them.

Works very well, but hot to the touch
Great little burner. But on/off and temperature control dials are also all metal, so they get very hot to the touch in operation. The whole burner is metal, so be sure to leave plenty of time to cool off after use to handle. Not optimal for an office space/common use as it's hard to tell if it's too hot to handle unless you put up a sign.

Top hot plate - fast heat
Really dig this hot plate. Just got to remember to turn both knobs off, not just one. It gets hot FAST.

Getting rusty on top?!?
Not sure why but stove is getting rusty?!? I thought it hade protective coating !?! I didn’t even wash I just used stainless steel on stainless steel with cleaner so I am not sure what’s that all about and all lettering came off as it would be writer with a sharpie?!? I would not buy this one again and I would definitely return and check different company!! Cheaply made.

Very good!!
Very powerful machine! cooks very evenly and quick, easy to keep clean, and store away in a Cabinet. only thing is that the base does get really hot so make sure you have it on a stable heat resistant surface and wait for the machine to fully cool down before storing away.

Works ok, but takes forever
The actual burner area is not super big so it takes a long time to heat up a pan. The metal base get very hot, moreso than the pan! Update: the ‘on’ and ‘off’ wiped right off when I wiped it down with water and dish soap!

One burner stove top.
I live in a small RV by myself and this one burner real stainless steel stove top is going to be perfect it has two elements and two knobs for adjusting the levels you want, also the rubber feet are higher, it sits higher off the counter. This is important, my last two bur stove top actually sat so low it burned my countertop. the stainless steel is going to be easy to clean. With tax it cost a little over $31.00 and as always free shipping from Amazon. AWESOME!!

Shuts off at Max setting
My brother-in-law had this model two years ago and it worked great getting used twice a day. I recently got this one because of the 1500W high heat rating. After working ok for 2 weeks, the thermostat started shutting off heat at a lower temp than the setting and failed to cook sufficiently. I returned it and got an exact replacement. After a few days it works ok except I tried to boil a dutch oven size pan half filled with water and set temp at max setting. As bubbles started at bottom of pan just a few minutes from complete boil the thermostat shut off and boil was never reached. The older model at my brother-in-laws stayed on at max setting. Because of several fires and melting reported in reviews I suspect the manufacturer adjusted the thermostat shut off levels to lower temp. So for frying and heating soup it works fine but at max setting for boiling water it fails.
