The filter does not make any noise. The noise could be due to the spray bar getting choked with the debris and algae. This in turn puts pressure on the pump. Try to clean the spray bar on a fortnightly basis. This will ensure that the water flows smoothly through the filter. The cleaning and maintenance of this filter is not difficult. As Navjot has mentioned, refer the the instructions given for cleaning the filter.
