Multiple Creative Possibilities
I like die cuts with multiple creative uses, and this Sunnykid Retro Slides Design definitely qualifies as one. This is a carbon steel metal cutting die set which cuts a retro slide and a film strip square. It makes clear cuts on card-stock, and embosses a folding line, all at once. This is great to use for framing stamped images, art pieces, and actual pictures. The embellishing possibilities are endless too. The finished piece can be used as is, or incorporated into cards, tags, scrapbook pages, and more. The price is very reasonable too. I highly recommend this die cut!

cuts through cereal box chip board
Using my Sizzix Big shot, I made a dozen of these slides on cereal box chip board. I did 3 passes, which might have been overkill, but I wanted to be sure. The result is beautiful, clean, detailed slide dies. The label under the picture area cuts off as a separate piece, so I am saving those pieces to decorate and attach later. Endless possibilities for creating.

The product pictured is not exactly what you receive
First of all, I like this die. It is larger version of a similar one I have from Sizzix/Tim Holtz. It cuts well. HOWEVER, the product pictured is not what you receive. The pictures are from a similar product sold by Creative Expressions (which has been discontinued -- probably why the seller thought they could get away with it). Using someone else's copyrighted photos to sell your product is at best bait-and-switch, and at worst copyright infringement and, therefore, illegal. (Another case of Amazon not vetting their sellers properly.) As other reviewers have noted, what appears in the photo to be a smaller embossed rectangle on the front side of the specimen slide actually cuts the rectangle out. I kept the rectangle in by taping it on the back (I used washi tape, but Scotch tape would work; or paste a small piece of paper on the back). By doing this, the finished item appears embossed.

Specimen slide
These specimen slides are perfect for projects. It is a well built die cutter at a very reasonable price.

Cuts beautifully
Fun die for making faux specimen slides. Cuts well and folds well on the seam. The bottom rectangle cuts out, but, for the slide in my photo, I placed the cutout back in its place and glued it down. It looks fine either way.

TRENDING!
These were fun to play with. Used either self-laminating sheets or thermal. Make great "specimen slides".

Cast a Little Oddish But They'll Work
These dies are cast a little oddish - the lower/smaller window cuts completely out rather than being embossed - but I made it work. Just reverse the lower cut out and glue it into the opening once the slide mount is completely sealed. I colored the cut out a gold color and stamped handwriting on it then glued it down. It look sort of looks like a metal plate...ish. Also put a tab on top of the four I've done so far. The die is built a little oddish but you can make it work.

The picture attached to this die is not what you get.
Buyer beware. Though the die works as it should. The photo attached to the die is not what it comes out like.
