What exactly comes with the System(aside from a controller) Do I get all the cables needed?(aside from HDMI) Anything to I need to buy separately?

With the systemI got everything HDMI cable and only one controller, if u need another controler u have to buy it, im happy it works really good , and it was brand new , no flash memory card included !! Any question feel free to ask

some listed for sale on amazon do but some will not. i have one listed and it does not include the stand but you can still set it on it's side.

Yes, it can be hooked up using an HDMI cable. I have mine currently hooked up with an HDMI cable.

Is this PS3 Console only a vertical stand or can it be horizontal stand?

It can be put horizontaly, it does not come with the vertical stand
