I have no idea as I just use it on a kitchen tap where it works fine.

Unlikely this would fit a dishwasher inlet...bulky and difficult to attach in tight spaces..

Q: What are the black rubber bits for? Mine fits tap but water sprays everywhere

Black parts are rubbers washers. I took out the one that goes on the top of the Tao and left just the one that goes under. When fitting it, try to push the top part of the connector a bit more ahead, needs to be tightened VERY well. I had to do this like 5-6 times until I figured out the right position.
