I have an outdoor storage building so if anyone has ever had one then you know how flimsy those doors are that they put on these storage buildings so I installed a metal grate, security door inside the inner door frame and needed a really strong lock that someone couldn't just take a hammer to or use a simple grinder to cut it off and steal my tools before I even realized anything was going on. Now this is a little pricey so I couldn't afford to buy a second one to actually try to destroy for testing purpose but as soon as I open the package I was immediately impressed with this lock. It has a very large shank size so make sure it will fit through whatever you are using. It has worked perfectly for my needs and has several features that made it worth the extra cost. First off, any of the cheap locks you buy will bust open with a couple of good hammer hits or a simple grinder will cut the shank in less than a minute but this lock is super heavy duty and I doubt very seriously anyone can break it with a hammer. Also, it is specifically designed with a cut resistant metal alloy to prevent anyone from using a grinder to cut it off. Then lastly, I didn't think much about it when I bought it but now after using it I have found that the rubber insert that covers the key slot will greatly extend the life of your lock by preventing weather and conditions to allow grit, sand or whatever to get inside the key slot. Now that I have this lock on my outdoor building I feel so much more secure and I am not jumping up at every little noise I hear to check on my building. This lock would also be great for outdoor driveway gates and anything that you are locking up with a heavy duty chain. I would definitely buy another one if I need one. Well worth the money I spent. Excellent value.
