Can these be used on the rear of a car? They will bolt up to the rear of my car, which otherwise takes an obsolete and unavailable part

34073 is manufactured to fit multiple front applications by design.  Use of the shock on a vehicle it is not listed for would void its warranty.  That being said, if the shock has the same travel as the one on your vehicle (extended and compressed lengths), and has the same end mounts, theoretically it can be used, keeping in mind the damping rate is not tuned to your vehicle, so you cannot expect the ride to be perfect.  I am aware of several vehicles that use this end configuration on the rear, but in reverse orientation.  (older Chevy Camaro / Pontiac Firebird)  If this shock works on your vehicle by mounting it upside down (rod end down), then it will not work for you because the construction of this shock will not allow the valving to work in the inverted position.  The rod end must be pointed upwards at an angle greater than 45 degrees to work.

Will it fit the fount of my Nissan hardbody?

34073 does not have the same lower mounting configuration as the front shock on your Nissan pickup.  (Assuming your pickup is a 2wd model from 1987 thru 2004)

Will this fit my 52 Ford Customline?

These fit perfect in my 66 impala and would fit many years. So you would have to go on specs and design if your not completely sure. Also you could check the manufacturer website

Question 4

Why can't these be used with the self leveling system. I have rear air bags currently. Even if I did change front height rear would adjust no?

I put them on a 2001 Crown Vic with the HPP package airbags and they work fine. A little stiff at first, I turned off the airbags for a couple days to break in the shocks and after that the car handles great.
