🦶 Slip-proof your space with invisible industrial strength!
Rust-Oleum Anti-Skid Additive is a 3.4 oz aluminum oxide-based powder that enhances slip resistance when mixed into epoxy, latex, or oil-based paints and stains. It evenly disperses sand-like particles to provide durable, industrial-grade traction on multiple surfaces including concrete, wood, metal, and fiberglass. Designed to maintain the original coating’s appearance and performance, it treats up to one gallon per pack and is VOC-free, making it a safe, effective solution for professional-grade slip protection.

Good Non-Skid
Works well. I added one pack to about 1.5 quarts of a 2-part epoxy based paint, stirred well and rolled it onto the floor of my boat with a short-nap roller. Looks good, no noticeable color change in the off-white. Definitely skid proof. The label says "Mix one package per gallon of paint." I think that might be a little thin. One pack in the quart and a half was more than enough, probably would have been good for at least 2 quarts, but I'm afraid a gallon would be pushing it. Guess it depends on how "non-skid" you want it. On a wet boat deck, better safe than sorry, but a pack per gallon might do fine for a house porch.

Works Great!
The Additive is the perfect solution for anyone looking to add extra safety and traction to their floors without compromising on style. Whether you’re applying it to a garage floor, driveway, patio, or any concrete surface, this additive offers peace of mind by reducing the risk of slips and falls while still delivering a professional finish. One of the best features of this anti-skid additive is how simple it is to mix and apply. It blends effortlessly into most Rust-Oleum floor coatings, including epoxy and latex-based paints. The instructions are clear, and the additive disperses evenly throughout the paint, so you don’t have to worry about clumping or uneven texture. Even if you’re a DIY beginner, the process is straightforward.

Works better than sand
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This stuff was great. I added it to one gallon of exterior latex acrylic paint and painted my porch. Now my porch is non-slip but still semi-gloss!

Read the Directions People...Thats Why They Include Them
Product worked great. I read several of the other reviews and the problems they had (color mismatch, setting up too fast/slow, non-skid additive settling out, etc) were just from them not following the directions. Read and follow the directions people....that's why they are there. I read and followed them and had no problems. Overall it was easy to install and Im not a handy person. The only issue I had was with the non-skid additive. As you apply the epoxy over an 4-ft x 4-ft area and work your way across the room, by the time you come back the epoxy has partially dried and when you overlap a little, the non-skid grit gets doubled up so you end up with a heavier band of grit across the room every 4-ft or so. Which is evidence that the non-skid additive does not settle out if you mix regularly as directed. Not really a bad issue as I live in Minnesota and my garage will have plenty of water/ice in the winter, but something worth noting. So you can pay someone $2,000 to do it, or do it yourself for a few hundred. Easy, inexpensive, and looks great. Whats not to love?

A needed product.
I purchased this product to add to the paint I am using on my front porch. It worked great and I now have a non skid surface on my porch. I am pleased with the product.

Great stuff!
I was adding it over painted walkway tiles to prevent slipping. Instead of pouring it into the pain jug (since I didn't need to paint that much. I actually carefully scattered some like dust on each 16" square paver, and used a regular Medium sized brush, and it actually stayed where I scattered it, and works perfectly. Prevents skidding in the rain, etc. I'm glad I tried this!

Added this to the final coat of an epoxy floor, so customers don’t slip. Works as it should, holding up in a commercial setting.

It adds just enough texture to make it not slippery.

Sloped steps in northern climate; and want to avoid insurance claim. Combined with the Kilz porch paint, the suspension was perfect, and the hard particles preserve the paint surface "gluing" them down (unlike soft particles that can roll off).
