The No.1 reference guide for Online Community Building, without a doubt.
I've read a few of Richard's books, and as great as they were, I did feel as though they were sometimes talking to bigger organisations and not smaller players like myself. That all changed with 'Build Your Community'.This guide has brought chapter after chapter of real value to me and covers so many questions you may have when first building an online community, and in such incredible detail as well. From similar resources that I've come across, nothing comes close to what you'll find in 'Build Your Community'.Highly recommended for smaller players like myself and more prominent organisations building online communities, both are well catered for, and the book strikes a nice balance to appease both parties.Such a valuable guide, and without a doubt the No. 1 reference material for building online communities now.

Insightful step-by-step guide
"Community" is such a buzzword for businesses these days, but I could never figure out how to execute it well, in a way that didn't feel like insincere lip service. I first saw Richard speak at a conference, and after that I knew I had to read his book. He's been doing this for ages, best in the business, and he's provided a clear step-by-step guide for how a company can create an active thriving customer community. I appreciate that he doesn't just give instructions, but explains the thinking behind them. You start with mapping out your goals and strategy. He asked all the right questions to focus my thinking. I hugely recommend this book!

Filled with specific, tactical advice you can use right now
I quite often find that discussion and resources about community management are too high level or strategic to actually deploy when you're managing a community day-to-day. That's not the case here.Build Your Community is absolutely jam packed with solutions to common online community problems, pitched in a way that makes it really easy to modify and apply them to your own community. From launch plans and budgeting through to risk mitigation and driving consistent engagement, it's all here and it's ridiculously useful and it's backed up by real-life examples. Huge kudos to Richard Millington, this one never leaves my desk.

Not for small business owners
This was not at all the book I was expecting. It talks about building a community alright, but more for organisations than it is for small business owners. It’s a very academic read. Useful if you want to build a community within a corporate setting. Not so useful if you’re planning to build one (or already have one) for your small business.

The best book on building communities I've ever read
I found this book hugely detailed and full of practical advice on how to build communities. The advice on developing the community platform and then keeping members engaged was particularly insightful and useful and I've already applied this with early success since reading.I would recommend this as the go-to book for anyone wanting to build a community. The author, Richard Millington, has long been considered the best in the game and Build Your Community shows why.

Nothing new from Milly ;)
It’s interesting but nothing is very new. It’s just rearranged.
