Cheap and cheerful
The case for the rods breaks easy but the rods are quite decent and cheap .. the kit includes a few attachments . The rods are fairly strong and quite flexible . A must have for any electrician if you want a nice cheap set of rods

So far so good
Bought these for running an aerial cable up inside a cavity into the loft. So far they seem ok, I was worried they may break off on the cavity and be lost forever but thankfully that hasn’t happened. More than long enough for a two story house, only downside is they are quite flexible which is great for getting into the wall, downside is that when you are at 1st floor level the weight of the rods can mean it bends off to the side and doesn’t come up exactly where you want it. Worked after a few attempts. Given the price of similar products in retailers these are a good option and value for money.

Not good for tight bends
Ok if you are trying to fish cable in a straight line or bends greater than 90 degrees but this isnt good for tight bends of less than 90 degrees as it will likely to breaks at end metal part or the metal part will come off when you try and pull/fish cable at tight bend. Then again I'd rather pay 20 then 150 and end up losing it somewhere in the hard to reach area. So overall still does the job well compared to other high end competitors

Rubbish
This must be a joke, I received the cable guide on Sunday. I used it for the first time to pull the cable from the attic. The connection part is broken and 5 rods are left in the attic. I can't reach and get it. I feel like I threw my money and time in the trash.

Does the job.
Well made and did the job. I can only think that people who complain about it breaking don’t realise that it is not made to pull cables. It is better used to pull a cord or string then use that to pull the cable.

Works really well
This has made quite a few cable runs much easier.I've even managed to use the cable pulling bit with the rubber like sleeve to pull a C7 power Cable (the one that plugs in to the mains and has 2 barrels at the other end used for powerling Laptops/Game consoles etc)Though be sure you don't care about the paint job on the wall behind or next to you if you are in a corner. As you will have to repaint once you are done, it'll easily scratch your paint.

Better than expected
I had been looking for ages at various versions of cable rods and was sadly inspired by a low price. When it arrived I was disappointed that I’d missed the fact that they are 4mm rods. But I was so desperate to get the job done I gave it a go thinking they would be what was required. I was so wrong! I needed to get a rod from the soffit across the loft and thought the 4mm rods wouldn’t be up to it. There is clearly more bend than i would have wished for but for most jobs it would be great. I had the job done in a few mins and have saved myself 20 quid. The kit includes some attachments which I dint need this time but imagine they would be useful. I saw a bit of negative press about this item but for me it is a highly recommended bit of kit. Only used it once but that’s what I recon happens most of the time with this niche stuff
