Everything Bagel Seasoning - Sprinkle Some Authentic Quick & Tasty Flavors On Your Food
# My ReviewThis review is for Zesty Z - Mediterranean Everything Bagel Seasoning. I really like Everything Bagels; so, when I saw this offering and the way in which it was packaged, produced, and delivered, I just knew it was worth a try.First of all, the seasoning is packaged in a regular sized plastic container with a twistable lid – similar to those spice options found at the grocery store. The clear see-through container gives you the opportunity to see the contents up-close and try to recognize what’s in there. Opening the container there was a nice vibrant, spice aroma that packed a punch! A good sign of quality ingredients and freshness. As seasonings go, this blend of roasted garlic, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, sumac, and dried onion can be used in so many different ways which delivers a wonderful savory flavor profile. I’ve used this in many snacks and dinners to improve the taste profile as an aromatic topping. I’ve used this on toasts, hummus, salads and in marinades – always tasting great.Overall, this is a nice seasoning product that comes in a handy and reusable plastic container. A good option if you’re looking to add some extra taste to your food! Very tasty seasoning. I have topped salads, eggs and potatoes with it. Elevates the flavor.
Just until recently I only thought of Everything bagel seasoning was for the top of bagels. I was at a store and overheard a husband on the phone looking for them for his wife. No success. I have seen the seasoning in magazines. I was happy to try this out.I have had another spice by Zesty Z. I was happy with it so I was expecting this to be a good spice also. It is!To try this out, I decided to try it on my favorite lunch food- an egg with oven roasted potatoes. I tossed the potatoes with a little oil and sprinkled this seasoning in. I poached my egg and topped the egg with this seasoning instead of my regular seasoning salt. It was soooo tasty. It is definitely a new way to eat eggs and potatoes! It did not make it too salty. Just a tad of salt. I also added it to my salad. My dressing was just a little oil, lime and vinegar. There was no need for honey or sugar because this brought such wonderful flavor to the salad that it didn't need it. So, it makes an effortless dressing. This has basic spices that make a very tasty seasoning- sesame seed, onion, garlic, poppy seed, salt and sumac. The garlic and onion are not powders but dehydrated flakes. To taste it out of the jar- it is very tasty. I want to just keep tasting it off my fingers. I can tell what I am tasting. This isn't all meddled into one flavor. I can taste the garlic bits. I can taste the onion bits. The sesame seeds offer a wonderful crunch. I can taste the salt grains. The spice is not sour from the sumac but every once in awhile I get a bit of sumac also.Serving suggestions include hummus, pizza, grain bowls, smoked salmon, eggs and salad. I will definitely be trying it on hummus.

ingredients are simple and straight-forward and just what i want in a 'everything bagel' seasoning
The media could not be loaded. Review of: Zesty Z - Mediterranean Everything Bagel SeasoningI really like the list of ingredients that is included with this mix. According to the label the ingredients are what I consider to be not only very simple and very straight-forward but also what I consider to be the just right mix in a classic ‘everything bagel seasoning’.Sesame, onion, garlic, poppy seeds, salt and sumac. That’s all the ingredients listed. And, everything taken together, is what I expect and what I want an ‘everything bagel’ seasoning to taste like. Some of the individual bits-and-pieces of the ingredients such as the onion and poppy seeds and sesame are visible and each piece, for me, tastes like what it is.In my taste tests I’ve found that the salt and the garlic balance nicely with the rest of the ingredients and the slightly tart flavor of the sumac adds just a little extra to the mix.On popcorn, on white rice or right off a spoon I’ve found the mix to be delicious. And, most surprising to me, is that I now can see myself actually taking the time to make up a batch of bagels just so I can sprinkle some of the Zesty Z Everything Seasoning onto the bagels.

Very versatile, the sumac in this is potent & zesty
I had heard good things about this and was excited to try it. So glad I did! I love this stuff! I could eat it right out of the bottle if it weren't for the salt. It's got sesame seeds and poppy seeds, little bits of dehydrated onion, lots and lots of potent sumac, and salt all easily visible in the mix. It's well balanced between savory, salty, sweet and sour for a really zesty, almost addictive finish. It can be used about anywhere one would use za'atar seasoning and more. It's good just in cream cheese!I will buy this again. The real seller in this is how potent and good the sumac is. It's very lemony and zesty and pairs so well with the poppy seeds. It's a good value. I could not recreate this blend for any less. The next time I buy this, I will get an even larger container.

Bagel Seasoning with Sumac Spice
We love Everything Bagels seasonings. This is a Mediterranean style Everything Bagel seasoning. What makes this bagel seasoning Mediterranean is the addition of Sumac as a spice. Sumac is made from the dried and ground berries of the wild sumac flower. The sumac spice is sour and acidic which adds a brightness to the seasoning mix.The spice is good. I like to put this on top of the homemade bread that I make for my kids. It's also delicious in dips and salads like chicken salad and deviled eggs.⛵⚓Seas the Day⚓⛵

I Love the Sumac Twist
By now, most people are familiar with Everything Bagel seasoning as a blend of sesame, garlic, poppy seeds, and salt, but fewer people are probably familiar with sumac, the spice that makes za'atar distinctive. Although sumac has been described as "tangy" and "citrusy," I find that neither does it justice. It's more complex than either of those words convey, although they do help you understand how and when to use it. This Zesty Z Everything Bagel with sumac edges close to za'atar without the thyme, and the sumac adds a brighter flavor to the rest. It's great to use whenever you'd use Everything Bagel seasoning. Because of the sumac, it lends a Mediterranean or Middle Eastern twist to the classic.I like to use this on top of ground lamb when I make Mediterranean flatbreads, but also as a topping to homemade bread. It adds a twist to my vinaigrette salad dressing. I imagine it would also be good on stronger flavored vegetables such as cauliflower. This spice blend has a great, fresh aroma and taste. The bottle is on the small side for this kind of blend since most people will use it generously.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Wayyy better than traditional Everything But the Bagel seasoning!
This is slightly different than standard Everything But the Bagel seasoning because it has sumac in it, a lemony spice that I absolutely love. That small addition makes this popular spice blend sooooo much better imo. It adds a depth and brightness that's just....mmmm. It makes you go back for more. This came to me very fresh which is important to me because sesame seeds go rancid faster than most spices since they contain delicate fats that oxidize in the presence of air. I keep this in the fridge as a result because my house gets warm and seed oils that are even a little rancid are really, really bad for you. So five stars for freshness. (I had tried a Zaatar seasoning from this same company and it went rancid super fast which tells me it had been sitting around for a little before being shipped.)The ratio of each ingredient is just right. There's no one thing that is in a higher quantity than the others or overpowers the others. One thing I will mention is this does not have poppy seeds which are usually in EBTB seasoning. The moment you open the seal and smell this stuff, if you're like I am, you'll be hooked and probably wish the bottle was larger. I don't think I'll ever go back to mainstream Everything But the Bagel seasoning again after being spoiled by this stuff.

it is all about the tongue.
this is an acquired taste and it's a 50:50 toss up in our home! some are just minimalist and a bagel should be kept simple. me, i like enhancing the flavor and this seasoning is all about enhancing! there is a tang and it is either you like or you dont. dont go heavy with it, a gentle sprinkle over cream cheese is more than enough - at least to start with.

Everything but the salt, needs a bit more but the spices included are plentiful
I absolutely love everything bagels, and this seasoning was right up my alley. While it's adequately flavorful, there is not enough salt to "kick off" the other flavors. Thankfully, that is easy to overcome with a pinch of kosher in the salt well. Adding sea salt to this brings out the intensity of the "everything" spices: roasted garlic, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, sumac, and dried onion, all my faves.

An enjoyable blend; works well with vegetable dishes
Although this is billed as a bagel seasoning, I've been enjoying it on a lot of different dishes. It's great as a salad seasoning. A few sprinkles of this over the greens plus a splash of olive oil makes for a very tasty salad. It works well with all vegetables. I haven't tried it with meat dishes, but I expect it would perform well with those (in addition, of course, to bagels). The addition of the sesame and poppy seeds makes for a nice alternative to the usual salt, onion and garlic based blends. It has a decent shelf life, with the bottle I received in March 2021 listing a best by date of March 2023. It's a quick and easy way to punch up the flavor for veggies.
