As the working surfaces are hard plastic, care must be taken with it's use. I've found it to be accurate for most purposes. I have steel ones for when I want to measure machine work, but I use this for general measurement for my model making projects which are mainly wood. A very useful tool at a very good price. Can quickly change between metric and imperial but remember to zero it before taking measurements. Very nice large, clear LCD readings and the unit takes standard SR44/LR44 1.5 volt battery. All in all a nice useable cheap unit.

This vernier caliper can be used to measure pipes and any other objects. It seems to measure well. It can measure in mm or inches. If it shows as starting from 0.5 mm just if you press 0 (the yellow button) it starts then from 0. It has an on and off button Does have one battery that can be replaced. It is easy to use compared to non digital ones. I did not test it much but soo far it works. The display is clear and is good value for money. It would benefit from a hard case as being plastic can be vulnerable to damages without a case and also the butons can be pressed accidentally to switch it on while not in use but the case might increase the price. I recomend it for home, casual use to measure a pipe in the bathroom for example.

For the price, I am really happy with this product. it is of mostly plastic construction, but I don't tend to be heavy handed when I am using my tools. I got this so I could measure and duplicate with Blender 3D and print on a 3D printer. measurments seem accurate so far and it is really easy to use

Plastic caliper so not expecting quality but they do a job. The only thing that's annoying is they dont come with a case so the battery runs down because when you store or lay them down the on botton gets turned on and depleats the battery

Set of measureing calipers. They're a bit plasticy the lable sayes they contain carbon fiber so decent plastic but not as good construction as stanless steel. The measurements on the side of the device are stuck on as in, its a sticker and visibly inaccurate. Other than that with a battery in the digital display is accurate enough for my needs and easy to use converting between UK and European measurements and having a zero function. All in worth the money for general around the home measurements. If you need "real accuracy" then you'll need to spend over a tenner for your equipment. On a side note whats with Amazon drivers just abandoning your delivery on your front lawn and leaving? I have a porch, its unlocked, stuff can be left out of sight of the road!

They look like they are entirely made of plastic but it seems this plastic is strengthened by the addition of Carbon fibre. This should add strength whilst keeping them just soft enough to not mark the surface of whatever it is you're measuring. You can measure internally and externally and can set the scale to zero at any point, great for measuring differences. You can also switch from mm to inches at the press of a button even after a measurement has been taken. I have two gripes with item. One is that even the slightest movement of the jaw activates the display. This means carrying it in a bag or tool box is not great for the battery but I can see why they did it. The biggest gripe is the battery cover. The caliper takes an LR44 button cell that resides behind a slide-off cover. I say slide-off, what I mean is fall-off. It has no mechanism to hold it in place and is not a tight fit so it is forever falling off if you catch it whilst taking a measurement. It is a real frustration. Gripes aside these are really handy calipers that are lightweight, accurate and terrific value for money.
