I got these for a chair that is partly on hardwood floor and partly on an oval jute throw rug. I'm 6' tall and 215 lbs. The rollers roll smoothly and easily over the floor. If one is going to make the transition from floor to rug I have to get out of the chair because with my body weight it just won't roll up onto the rug. Once out of the chair however I can roll it wherever I want. I can however scoot back from the desk with one or two wheels on the rug and there are no issues. It just seems to be when making the transition but that's of no issue. The rubber on the wheels is soft but durable and doesn't leave marks on the floor. They spin freely and roll easily. They are also much quieter than the ones that came with the chair. They were easy to install. I just flipped the chair over, pulled out the old casters and pushed these in. I don't know why chairs don't just come with these, they're a far better design. They are a perfect fit as an OEM replacement.

These "casters" work well, maybe a little too well. They are merely rollerblade wheels: Tall, rubber, silent, low static friction, low kinetic friction. A slight push in any direction and the chair will begin to coast. On hardwood, you will need to put your feet down to brake because it won't stop on its own. They are that good. My old casters were the standard dual-sided plastic kind that seize up within days of purchase, never to spin freely again, slowly scratching grooves into the hardwood floor. Normally rollerblade wheels and bearings are designed for outdoor use, miles of travel across rough asphalt/concrete, so these are overkill for a smooth, level indoor surface. If you push off from one end of a warehouse, I'm sure you could make it all the way across. Consider this a warning: if you accidentally give your chair a bump when standing up, it _will_ glide away from you. Haven't tested it on carpet, but I'd imagine that could slow it down. So look back and verify the chair is still there before sitting down. And if the intended chair occupant is a bit ... "sporty" e.g. children, maturity-challenged adult, this might increase the level of horseplay. Note that they sit about 3/4 inch taller than the stock casters, so consider that your chair's new minimum seat height will increase by that much. One upside is it makes it easier to roll over small obstacles like bumps or cords. As the description calls out, these are US universal 11x22mm which do not work for chairs like IKEA Millberget which uses 10x20mm. Search for rollerblade casters specific to IKEA chairs if you have one. But now that we're on the subject, if you happened to have the Millberget you could hypothetically use a drill bit (an old 8mm masonry bit with random paint flecks could even work) and bore out the plastic caster housing by 1mm on all sides and jam these in there. Hypothetically. A smart person would buy the right size in the first place though.

Wow! it was like night and day switching from the custom casters to these. The product FEELS and LOOKS sturdy and well made. The installation was quick and easy, really toolless. Depending on the chair you are installing them on and the condition of the hole, you might need a bit more force to push them in place. The experience after the change is really great. Smooth, obstruction-less gliding. No marks on the floor, (a huge plus) You should even be mindful of your movement with these wheels, it is so smooth and frictionless that you could go too quickly. They really are soundless and smooth gliding on my tiled floor. The 3inch height caused me to lower my chair a bit, but that is really not a big issue. Overall, it's a great buy and a welcomed change to office chair functionality.

My concrete floor finally started destroying my original casters on my drafting chair. I ordered these replacement wheels. Simple snap out (I used a flat head screw driver to assist me) and snap in replacement. What a world of difference. My chair rolls much easier, smoother and quieter than it ever has. I wish I had upgraded 9 1/2 years ago when I had bought the chair UPDATE 11/27/2024: I just LOVE how smooth and quiet my old chair moves across my concrete floor now!!! I have found that I need to be more careful in sitting down with these wonderful casters. If I am not careful, as I am sitting down my leg barely touches the chair and it rolls a foot or so away from me as I am sitting down. WOW! I am more than pleased with this upgrade. I highly recommend this upgrade, even if your chair is brand new!!! It is SO easy to move this chair - even when I have my full weight on it!

These wheels are great! I bought them to fix my birds play stand. The play stand came with cheap plastic double wheels that broke in a week of owning the stand. These are a great upgrade, they roll super smooth with no issues. I plan on buying more for one of my bird cages too

I'm a big guy, and that was doing a number on the stock wheels that came with a new chair. I had a set of some similar a long time ago so I gave these a shot. They took just a couple of minutes to install, most of the time was spent getting the old wheels out. They lifted the chair up just a little but with my height that is actually a bonus. Now I don't hear the occasional popping I heard from the stock wheels, and they roll better on my carpeted floor. The only complaint I have is that occasionally one of the wheels wont turn properly when I try to move at first, but a little wiggle normally kicks them back into the right place. I've had them for about 8 months now and they are still standing up well.

These should come with a warning! I am gliding about my office with so much ease that I am now a menace. I am flying all over the room and crashing into things (and coworkers) because I don't have a license for this thing! I love how smooth it glides and I no longer have to have a cage match with my office chair to get it to roll a certain direction to shift my feet on my footstool. The sound of me rolling is a quiet warning to my coworkers that a tornado is about to hurl across the room. The wheels themselves are silent, so the last thing they hear is my chair legs switching directions before I reach my destination. I end my timely journey by using my shoes to slow me down. Unless I crash into the empty desk next to my work bestie. The squealing of my shoes may be the last thing they hear before I come barreling over to them. These wheels glide so smooth that I will never stop rolling absolutely everywhere. Much to the dismay of the other two people in my department. I have been told that I am the comic relief in the office, and these wheels just elevate my game. 12/10 would recommend!
