Works Great on Home Assistant, Homekit, and Alexa via Matter
Update - 5/9/2025:I have now purchased several of these. All but my original are on Matter. They have extremely good connectivity and uptime. I feel like the cost is justified given the ETL cert and rock solid connectivity. Updating the title to reflect this.I like that this uses Thread instead of WiFi. This is very useful for when the router is misbehaving and needs to be rebooted, which means you can't use a WiFi device! I wish more devices used Thread. The Eve app is also worth mentioning. The app is a powerful means to manage your homekit devices. Lots of info, ability to find and fix erroneous devices that even HomeKit itself doesn't have, and various sorting and organization features.Eve also recently joined the "Works With Home Assistant" program. A big get for both organizations.I enthusiastically endorse this product.Edit - 8/22/2023:Updating this review to 5 stars. Not sure when it happened (perhaps with one of the firmware updates), but the Eve is now regularly reporting stats to Home Assistant. Updates are sent every 5 minutes and cover all of the important stats (amps, voltage, power, and energy). I added the device to Home Assistant using the HomeKit Controller integration, NOT via iOS. Though, my original comments about iOS still apply (no stats, works fine as a switch, etc.)Still have not converted to Matter. I'm content with leaving it that way until I'm forced one way or the other. Things are working exactly the way I'd like them to so I'm in no rush to change that.Original Review:I bought this expecting to import it into Home Assistant (or at minimum, HomeKit) and show the power draw in real time. Unfortunately, that was not the case.It still does a pretty good job if you use the Eve app. It has power draw and energy draw that are tracked over time. You can then get an estimated long-term cost and energy usage for various time intervals. It offers no energy or power information in HomeKit.Speaking only about the Home Assistant implementation, I was able to add it through HomeKit Controller and it immediately showed all the stats I was looking for. Unfortunately, that was the last time it updated automatically. You can kind of do a hacky interval update by creating an automation that uses the "Identify" function every X minutes. That worked fine, but I'm not sure that's what I'm looking for. Hopefully someone is able to get that information pulled into HA in real time natively.I'm leaving it at 4* though since it works really well in the Eve app. The HomeKit switch functionality works fine. I have not converted it to a Matter device yet since that is a one-way street, I'm waiting to see what other people's experiences are, and I want to figure out a better way to organize my Matter and HomeKit codes. But I can confirm that Matter is available for this device through a firmware update as of the time of writing this.If you're looking for a switch to monitor power and don't mind using the Eve app, this is a great buy (if not a little expensive). If you're looking for something more, I would probably pass on this. Maybe in the future there will be some advances in how this provides info.

Reliable
These are reliable and more compact than a Wemo so they fit in more places and don't block adjacent plugs. They are operating by Thread in my house and there's been no problems at all. I love that I can see estimates of power usage and costs in the Eve App, though that feature isn't really necessary in my use case. I mean, why do I need to know that my coffee habit costs $30 a year in electricity? :-) I use the Eve Energy to power off all my coffee making devices after a certain time to remove ghost electricity use. I also have an Eve Energy that operates a Vornado fan where we exercise. These are fully HomeKit functional and don't need the cloud to operate, unlike Wemo. And unlike Wemo, these Eve Energies won't fail to work if you turn on Eero's HomeKit Secure Router and put the Energies onto Restricted. The HomeKit tag is also on the SIDE of the Energy instead of the rear (as is the case with the Wemos, making for interesting chick-and-egg configuration issues if you don't have the code recorded elsewhere). Yeah, these Energy's are great and I'll be replacing all my Wemos with them.

A rock solid, thread enabled, smart plug
I use Apple Home Kit for my smart home and have about 12 smart plugs scattered around my house. I originally had another brand of smart plug, but over time found that they became unresponsive on the thread network with some regularity.I decided to try Eve plugs based on other reviews and I have to say that these plugs are outstanding. I have now completely replaced my other brand with Eve so I now have 12 Eve smart plugs and these things are rock solid. After having one or two of the other brand dropping off-line every day, since installing the Eve plugs, I haven't had one instance of a plug offline.Adding the Eve plugs to my Apple Home app was straightforward. You have the option of using the Eve app, but they can be directly added to Apple Home without the Eve app.Unlike some similar plugs, these plugs can track and record power usage through the plug and that information is available to you via the Eve app on your phone. For the record, my thread network has three different types of edge routers (Apple Home Pod mini, Apple TV, and Eero WIFI mesh network).I would definitely recommend these Eve plugs for your smart home. Note I didn't;t rate tech support because I have never needed it.

Great Product - But Failed in less than 1 year...
Evehome products are great. They are easy to setup and usually work without any problems. Sadly, on of the Smart Plugs I purchased last November stop responding and nothing I could d would reive it. This includes factory reset.Hope Eve will issue an RMA so I can get a replacment. At $40 a pop, these are not cheap.

Perfect plug for HomeKit, works with Blueair
This plug helps build a fast Thread network in HomeKit with energy use data. I use it with Eve air quality and door and window sensors to control BlueAir 121, 211+ and 411+ air purifiers (memory restores last used setting after power loss), so they turn on based on room conditions, like situations that increased VOCs. When a window opens, the nearest BlueAir unit is triggered to filter dust and allergens. With conditionals in the Eve app, the purifier can turn off when air quality improves but only if that room’s window is closed. There’s also an option to check if the plug is on but not used—I haven’t yet tried it but in theory I could check whether an air purifier was manually shut off. Lastly, with our focus on improving indoor air quality, this plug lets us know the annual projected energy costs for our automations is roughly $20 per year. It’s the perfect plug for automating appliances in HomeKit.
