After owning the camera for 4 years of flawless operation outside in the elements it has been great. Picture began getting fuzzy a few weeks ago. Couldn't access or format the SD card. Picture completely stopped broadcasting after that. I decided to take the camera down from the pole and inspect it. When I removed the camera from the board that I mounted it on bees started flying out. When I returned an hour later I could see the honeycomb inside the camera. So I ordered a new one and I'll deal with the bees another day.

While it worked the camera had a good picture, I liked being able to pan and zoom to view different areas. Unfortunately paying $160 for a security camera after 3 years is not what I wanted. Decent camera, short life.

This is my second Dericam unit, the other being the PTZ. Both units have a good picture and movement(when they feel like working), but I have a hard time believing all the positive reviews on these cameras. I have had to remove the garage camera no less than ten times to "setup" the wifi again. The other camera is placed in a corner facing the entryway and it also dropped wifi so much the only way I could get it to work was run an ethernet cable and now that fails regularly as well. The garage camera is 25 feet away, the other 10, so distance is not an issue, nor is my router. I have a Ring doorbell, and Arlo cameras on the side and back of the house that function perfectly. I went with these for the front because of the hardwire ability. Most activity happens in the front and I was tired of changing batteries. Big mistake with this brand, changing batteries was nothing compared to climbing up there, unmounting the unit, pulling the cables through, and having to set it up again through ethernet. I've done it so many times the screw holes are stripped and have to use new anchors everytime. Save yourself the headaches and look elsewhere.

The cover gets cloudy/dirty for night vision. I took mine apart an cleaned it twice but it don’t last to long.

Have had mine working for over 2 years and it's never failed. (I've tried several other brand cameras for my homes and rental properties and they will drop off wifi - need to be rebooted, which isn't possible when you're traveling.) This one always works! I can always call it up on the app and see what's going on, night & day. Mine's in high desert where it gets up to 105 degrees in Summer and below 5 degrees in winter. Motion detection is better than some - I think all brands are too sensitive.

Product worked great when purchased in 2017, then over time the night vision decreased and now after two years, worthless. Very dissappointing, now looking to move away from this product. If you need night vision for more than a year, I would not purchase.

This product is garbage. I thought I was safe and able to view my recordings easily. This camera is really only good for live view. The recordings come as .264 files which require proprietary software to convert, vlc player can't even do it. The recordings have inaccurate time stamps. They jump around and have no correlation and aren't sorted, they're even saved in random order. I wouldn't recommend this camera for any reason, there are so many better options available. Unfortunately, you only find out it truly doesn't work when you need it the most, and by then it's too late.

I installed this camera a year ago, outdoors, it works like straight out of box. I have been using it from anywhere there is wi-fi. One glitch - or maybe it was by design, when I turn off my phone with scene other than #1, it reverts to #1, but this is not predictable when. I solved this by making #1 the default setting. I have not used the motion detection or tech support (did not need to), so I can't rate those.
