I’ve tried to explain it to their customer services, but they don’t seem to understand that it is actually a criminal offence to sell electrical equipment in the UK without a UK plug. Hopefully this review will prompt someone to have a look at the Law!

The product is sold by amazon.co.uk but comes with US plug. Also it states on the cable that it accepts 120V and does not mention anything about 220V. So using a simple plug converter will not work most likely as UK voltage is 220.

Really disappointed as I was looking forward to having a steamer. You need UK adapter for it, which I got but the steamer never turned on. No blue light to be seen :(

We’ve used max 4 times, started leaking water on turbo use, disappeared and cannot return, not cheap team.

When choosing, I hesitated before going with the 1600 Watt models . . . Turns out, it’s not “too much” but rather just what you need. Easy to set up and use. I bought it to get the wrinkles out of the curtains - you have to use the “turbo” setting for the heavier fabric, and it works well; I got very satisfactory results. There’s a “delicate” version for use with more delicate fabrics. Overall : no regrets. Good buy.

First off, I bought this steamer to replace a series of cheaper ones that I’d been using and replacing nearly yearly. First impression out of the box was that this was much nicer, more robust and heavy duty. I did notice water condensation in the tank when I first opened the box. My husband pointed out that they probably test it at the factory. Lo and behold, it said this in tiny print on the box. So, it wasn’t used but just quality-controlled! Using the steamer was really nice compared to my previous ones. I like the on/off button and auto shut-off for when I step away. I’m quite keen on the bubbling sound it makes when I steam, as I know it’s drawing on the water reservoir and it sounds like a friendly kettle. The unit is a bit heavier on account of its better construction, but that doesn’t phase me for normal daily use. For travel, it would be a bit bulky/heavy and I’d consider purchasing a smaller/folding travel version instead. I would recommend this steamer as well as Roweta products. I also have an iron which I adore!

UPDATE: I've updated my original review (below) from a '1' to a '4' because after I posted my review a few months ago, I decided to give the steamer a good flat 'whack' or palm slap' on the bottom, the darn thing started steaming again and has been working fine for several months now. Had I not had the issue of the steamer suddenly stop working, I would rate it a '5' APRIL 2025: I bought this Rowenta Steamer in 2022 and used it three times in my home....tried to use it today (April 2025) and there is NO steam at all (yes, I filled the tank). The top of the unit is warm, almost hot....but no steam. I emptied the tank after each use so I know there's no issue with calcium build up or stale water. The two little nozzles where the tank connects to the steamer are clean.

This is my favourite steamer. Works very well but after 2 years it stopped working completely. I made sure I followed all the handles and care well, now it’s time to get a new one.
