Take the supplied screws to your local hardware store, buy tapcon screws (for concrete) and they supply you with the appropriate sized bit, if it’s wood you can drill the supplied screw directly into the wood. But sorry I mounted on top of a concrete/paver pillar

Yes, snow will lay on the panels which charge the batteries. If you are worried about this then don't buy it but mine works fine and it is only 7' tall and I'm able to keep it clean. It is well made and worth the money.

Sounds like you are doing it during the day and you will have this problem because the light sensor will only allow the light to come on at night.
