Learning Resources Design & Drill Patterns & Shapes, Fine Motor Skills Toy

I bought this toy to use as a more male oriented tool on a dementia unit, and it is perfect for this. Lots of great different, brightly coloured pieces, and the drill is easy to handle. There are some sturdy pattern boards to follow, which have a blank side too so you can make your own. My patients LOVE it actually, including one of the ladies, and this is the only thing one of my patients will actually become involved with for longer than a few minutes. Could do with some sort of container for all the bits, this would make the toy perfect, but overall it is an excellent educational toy and very absorbing to use. Batteries seem to have lasted quite well (not supplied) so doesn't use too much energy each play session. Very satisfied.

A very simple but occupying toy. I wasnt very exited about it to be honest but it exceeded all my expectations. My 3 year old cant have enough of it. I would literally buy this as a present for birthdays.

This Drill Activity set is miles better than other similar activity sets out there. Wonderful design patterns supplied with the set for little ones to follow or they can use their imagination to creat something different. Plenty of colourful nuts and bolts for all the different designs. Drill has realistic sounds effect and really works well with the set. Super!

I bought this toy for my 4 y.o. son - he was into contruction toys and absolutely loved it. You do need 3 AA bateries to buy to make the drill work - luckily I had them so we could enjoy this toy stright away. The plastic looks bright and made nicely. Everything is very simple and easy to play with. The only thing I would improve is the colour of the work surface - I would rather have it a little bit transparent as you cant quite see through those hole the pattern you are supposed to follow. But he creates his own patterns and looks very pleased with this toy.

Bought this for my 3 year old as I thought it might encourage him to sit still for more than 30 seconds and aid his ability to follow instructions (through the pattern building). Whilst he likes making random patterns he doesn't often like to follow the pattern cards and getting the screws out when he's finished takes such a long time that he get's frustrated and bored very quickly and I end up sitting and doing it! Quite a robust toy though which should last a good while and little boys do love drill noises!

I bought this toy for my 2yr old grandson who is fascinated by how things work and loves taking things apart. When he opened this on his birthday his face said it all. The battery powered drill and screwdriver immediately gained his attention and he gradually made his way onto the nuts and bolts. it is a toy that will definitely grow with him. The nuts and bolts can be arranged into patterns, you can develop recognition of colours and counting as well as obviously, imaginative play. His 4yr old sister immediately wanted to get in on the act proving that it isn't just boys who like DIY!The one small downside is that it takes 6AA batteries which aren't included in the box and there was no mention of this on the outside packaging. Fortunately I decided to check this before giving it to him but it was annoying that we had to remove the packaging to do that hence the loss of one star to my rating. In all other respects it is an excellent toy and I loved it.

Great little toy for my three year old. He loves drilling like a big boy and making pictures! I got the original version and the only difference between it and the large seems to be that it doesn't have a carry case.Honestly I wouldn't want my son taking it out with him as if he lost the Utd and bolts I'd probable be more upset than him.This is great for teaching them their colours and how to follow instructions. Above all else I think it teaches patience and concentration.

My little boy loves this it's great for fine motor skills when he tries to screw the bolts in by hand and for hand eye coordination when he uses the drill it's also good for learning about colour and patterns he will spend a good bit of time concentrating on this but most of all its great fun as my little boy calls himself the fixer man and goes around fixing things

my son really enjoyed this toy set. he loves taking this apart and putting it together. when he sees me using a real drill, he fights to take it. it is fun to see him enjoying the tool set.

I had something like this when I was younger! I found this one while trying to find Chrostmas ideas for my 3 year old. She loves it, and likes being like daddy!

I got this you for a 4 year old boy and he loved it! After many years of use it still looks like brand new, durable high-quality materials. It's a toy drill, bolts, and board that can be used to make countless designs. I like that it also has an educational aspect with making designs, counting the bolts, etc. Very easy to use also, no trouble moving the bolts around or putting them in the board. Another thing that was really cool is the drill actually works like a very safe kid version of an actual drill. It can put the bolts in or put it in reverse to take them out. Highly recommend this toy, hours of fun!

This is a great product! Our 2 year old daughter loves putting the screws in and out. Very entertaining. Took me a few tries to get the batteries in properly.
