Solid, thick full tang knife of excellent quality
Morakniv on steroids! Very thick and solid full tang blade. Excellent quality construction. Same excellent Sandvik stainless steel and sharp grind as in the Campion but much thicker blade. This knife will be able to take massive punishment. Perfect for a convenient size yard work or camp knife. Not pretty in the least so I won’t hesitate to put this knife to work. I normally would not think of batoning a knife blade to split wood but this beast should be able to handle it. Now my small disappointments: - The handle has the most minimal swells for a guard to prevent your hand slipping out onto the blade when thrusting. Granted this knife is not meant for fighting or stabbing and the handle texture is grippy, but I just prefer a little more hand guard on a larger knife like this. The upside is that the symmetrical handle allows reversing in the sheath for left or right hand wear. - I am disappointed in the leather sheath. It is too bulky for a 4” knife. The flap could have been 1/2” short and trimmer. I wish they offered a deep pouch leather sheath without the flap. I have ordered the alternative nylon Multi-Mount sheath to see if it is handier and more trim. - Apparently from other comments the price of the Garsberg has gone up from from $50 to the current $73. It would be a unquestionable value at $50. At $73 it is getting too close to the much better Fallkniven F1 at $95, and not sure it is that much more useful than the still-robust Morakniv Kansbol at $34 (which shares the same sheaths as the Garsberg). Those are slight cons. Overall extremely impressed with the Garsberg. But I do recommend buyers to consider the Fallkniven F1 or Morakniv Kansbol as well.

Excellent quality knife for a rather hefty price tag.
Knife is solidly built. The quality of steel and edge-holding is blameless. The leather sheath is top quality. The knife has the heft which none of the other Mora knives have. The price is a little too much for the worth of the knife, and in my opinion, Mora will have to do better, if it wants to appeal to the broader user spectrum. The knife is ready for a heavy duty use. I would not feel under-prepared to be in the wilderness. Yet I cannot see this knife as a do-it-all knife. Human beings invented saw and ax for good reasons. There are tasks that calls for saw and ax, and there are tasks that calls a knife. But if Mora Garberg is the only tool you have, you will do all things needed, and Garberg will supply most of the time. As for feathering a stick, 2mm thick carbon steel seems to do a better job. I find Pro C to be the over-all best little knife in my opinion, however, among the Mora offerings, considering the value for the money.

Well worth the $$$$.
I bought the leather sheath version of the Garberg. I have to admit that I was skeptical about spending so much on a Mora (I got it for $59) but after having the knife for a few months I have found it to be money well spent. This is a well designed, purpose built knife. The handle offers a good nonslip grip and is very ergonomic. The knife has a full tang and the blade is a scandi grind with 14C28N steel. It came sharp and has held it's edge well. The spine is a rough ground at 90 degrees which makes it good for scraping wood shavings or sparking a ferro rod. I love the leather sheath that comes with this knife. It is well made, fits nicely and the flap folds over to cover the knife and snaps shut. No velcro to get dirtied/plugged up. Mora did a great job on this knife and it is well worth the higher price.

Solid Knife - I returned it and here is why
I have been looking for a fixed, full-tang outdoor knife and this seemed to tick all the boxes - stainless, not made in China, great reviews, etc. But after getting it, I am returning in. Here are the pros and cons, and the cons for me are mostly personal preference - a lot of people love this knife. I read a lot of reviews and watched glowing video reviews - but all those people got the knife from Mora for free. In the end, I don't think this is worth $100 (with leather sheath) Pro's - obviously well built and durable, balanced, thick blade, no imperfections. Sharp right out of the box. Mora seems like a cool knife company with lots of niche offerings and quality products. Glad I found them. Con's - Visually, the small bolster, plain edge and straight spine make it look like a steak knife or a really nice filet knife. I guess I wanted something that had partial serration, or gimping on the back, or something to give it versatility and style in the wild. I have survival knives with saws on the back, or tear-drop nail pullers, notches for wire stripping or line cutting, or shapers/firestarters built into the sheath. I guess at this price, the lack of those features felt more pronounced. Until I held it, I didn't realize this. I think the $100 price tag makes you want more - the reviewers who got it free (and those who enjoy the function over the form) are happy with this knife, and they should be. For me, I wanted more for my money. Second is the sheath, or it's more accurate to say 'pouch' because the knife is not accessible without unsnapping and opening it, and when you do, only about an inch of the handle is exposed, making it awkward for me to get out and then re-grip (as opposed to being fully holding the knife when it's drawn). Lastly, my personal preference is to have more of a bolster in a survival/bush knife. If I'm really using this for all kinds of crazy stuff, I need something between my fingers and this extremely sharp blade. This knife is one of the highest quality knives I've had, no question - but for the money, I just wanted more personality.

A great Bushcraft knife!
A Mora knife on steroids! This is a heavy duty knife, thicker than other Moras and the full tang gives you security when batonning. The knife came shaving sharp and is easy to keep that way. The leather sheath is beautifully made and fits the knife perfectly. My only negative is a small one and in no way would it prevent me from buying another one, but the grip is a bit hard and incompressible compared to the Kansbol. Perhaps the designers at Morakniv felt this knife would be batonned aggressively and needed a hard grip to prevent damage from poor technique. Still a great knife at a good price.

Es un cuchillo fuerte, grueso para lo que Morakniv suele presentar. Buena calidad del acero aunque viene con poco filo. La funda se ve un poco rara porqué cubre todo el mango. Buen producto.

Es mi segundo garberg, nada más que decir.

Well worth 3 or 4 times the purchase price. Incredibly well crafted and constructed blade. Perfect for bushcraft and survival situations.

Overall a great Knife and companion. This knife I can trust in to allow me to do what’s needed. I’ve felled small trees using nothing but a flint to baton and the Garberg. Hundreds of good size bits of bamboo. Plaster board. It’s opened maybe 50 coconuts. I now use this knife like a machete. It’s not 100% invincible, I mean dings are visible where it’s been bashed with stones to baton. Improper use I hear you say? I needed to do it, this knife did it no problem no complaints, perfect every time. I now use it where possible instead of machete for chopping in confined forest situations where swinging a larger implement is difficult. Uses less energy. If i ever do manage to break it, I’ll buy another👍 I have many knives but this has trumped the others inc my leather man. This is some tough, sharp metal with a handle which is fine unless your hands are ‘fairy’ soft. Just grip it hard when using the pummel, you don’t want your hand to slip..! That’s said 2 or 3 knocks and your coconut opens/rock cracks takes more blows with other larger knives/tools
