Item is a good value. Works as described. It protects the bulb on a AD200 flash or similar bare bulb flash.

I like the metal, lightweight tube to cover the bare bulb used in the AD200 bulb light unit. The metal tube fits well over the glass tube when in the bulb AD200 unit. I just leave the bulb connected to the unit and cover with the tube to store away. The metal dissipates the heat quickly and protects other gear that might melt if it touches the hot bulb (not likely). A nice accessory to have.

I ordered this protective cover, and the dome modifier at the same time. I found that the attachment piece that goes into the base looks nearly exactly the same at a quick glance, yet the dome fit smoothly and the protective cap required some forcing (and I didn't want to damage the rubber retention piece). I compared the two to see what the difference was and found that the dome attachment has a chamfer around the seat of the mount-- the cover does NOT. So, in order to fix it, all I did was take a rough surface and rolled the corner of the protector back and forth over it until it took the hard angle off. (it's pretty weak metal, I think anything abrasive would work.) Specifically, I used a Smith's 2-sided diamond knife sharpener on the coarse side. Once I made a chamfer on the edge of the cover, it started to slide in with much more ease. You can do it on just one side, but I did it on both so I wouldn't have to think about it if I'm distracted, or in the dark, etc... You can see in the third picture that this version of the light has the two screws on the oposite sides from the rubber retention piece so this protector will lock in place with a slight twist. I haven't dropped it, and don't plan on testing it, but I would be pretty confident in stating that it will protect the bulb. The body of the light will most likely break from a tumble far sooner than the bulb will, so if that unfortunate event does happen, maybe you'll be in better luck being able to find a used replacement for the body and still have a functioning bare bulb head for it.

I can't say anything less that it's the perfect accessory to keep the bare bulb safe! It's built well. Thick enough aluminum to be strong enough to keep from getting crushed. I haven't dropped my AD360, but have faith that the bulb is safe. If I dropped that flash though, I'd probably have bigger problems that a broken bulb.

I was hesitating buying this thing because all reviews mentioning it won't fit the AD200 Pro. It DOES fit just fine. You don't need to apply much pressure, it's just a normal, comfortable "non-wobbly" fit. Just don't forget to release the tightening knob. No modifications to the cover are required - it just works.

I bought a pair of these to cover and protect the bare bulbs on two AD200 flashes. One unit (see photo) had the notches cut incorrectly. The notches are supposed to line up with the posts on the AD200 bulb mount, which are directly across from one another. The other unit had the notches cut correctly, but it would not install over the mounted bulb because it would not fit in between the bulb and the AD200 bulb securing bumper, which when fully retracted, still protrudes into the AD200 bulb cylinder so much that this bulb cover will not fit between the mounting bumper and the bulb.

Es útil como método de protección, pero el metal viene con rebaba y la soldadura interna es algo débil. Las tuve que limar y lijar para no dañar la pieza a la que se acopla del flash. En este proceso se soltó la cazuela de uno de ellos. Por el envoltorio y esta terminación no creo que sea la original de la marca.
