Fantastic knife
Powerful, long lasting, and SO much faster to clean fish! Never had battery give out on me, 30 perch/walleye no problem. I use these to remove ribs and skin from backbone then remove ribs from fillets with a 7" rapala fillet knife. Once you get the hang of it takes maybe 45 seconds a fish. That's a huge difference from before I had this electric (battery) knife. Have also cleaned at same table as a friend with the "other" top brand electric knife and I wouldn't trade based on performance. Only drawback is the blades are not as universal as the other knives. He can easily find less aggressive and cheaper replacement blades, but he paid almost 100.00 more. I highly recommend!

Best Cordless Fillet Knife
This thing is great. Batteries hold a charge for ages and the blades are sharp and zip through the fillets like butter. The trigger is easy to use and is a better design than other electric knives I’ve tried. Cleaned two man limits of walleye and perch over a week in Ontario and never even got into the second battery. Excellent knife for the money.

Best knife on the market as of now.
So I use the heck out of my knife. Im a guide and clean a lot of catfish and crappie with them. They out preform any batt knife out there. Most people don't like the Bubba knife and to be honest I haven't used that one because I love this one. Plus many of my friends switched to the R12. Now it's not going to last forever. I have broke 2 or 3 but I clean a lot of fish. I keep a spare for when I break one. The blades are great but I have yet to find the replacement black blades. The cheap silver ones work though. I love the 2 batts. I have cleaned over 100 crappie on one batt. I like the thumb button and it fits great in my hands. I like the freedom of not having a cord. That's a game changer. The R12 blows away the old Rapala knife. Now, I have had the thumb button go out before. Ive had them quit oscillating on one side as well. Ive also had them stick on and have to pull the batt. But I still use them and think it's the best option at this point and time.

RAPALA R12 HD. Not a heavy duty knife breaks down after six weeks of use.
This is an excellent knife when it doesn’t break down This knife is very capable of cleaning grouper with the proper fillet knives, which they don’t offer The sharpest knives for cleaning bigger fish like grouper are actually what Bubba has But the Bubba knife is not comparable to this knife. One bit. It has three times the torque and a better fit for your hand. The problem is trying to get a hold of Rapala customer service . Which knows there is a problem with this plain knife Something strips out, and the blades do not engage. I hope RAPALA decides to stand behind these knives with a better way to get a hold of them than having to scroll through their whole site and trying to find the proper website or proper email site to be able to get a hold of them. They know they have a problem they need to deal with it. MY THOUGHTS ARE WHEN YOU BUY A KNIFE IT SHOULD LAST NOT HAVE TO CALL THE NUMBER HAVE THEM CALL YOU BACK THE NEXT DAY AND THEN SPINS AND WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO LOCATE AN EMAIL ADDRESS SO THEY CAN GET BACK TO YOU. I THINK MOST FISHERMAN CAN FEEL THAT THEIR TIME COULD BE MORE WELL SPENT THAN TRYING TO GET A WARRANTY ISSUE TAKEN CARE OF

Kicks Bubba Pro Series BUTT
Folks, it's no contest. I made the mistake of buying the Bubba Pro Series Knife. The only people who can possibly be happy with that knife have never used the R-12. This thing could chop the Bubba up like a piece of Swiss cheese. The torque, oscillation speed, weight, every facet is superior. The weight of the Bubba with no battery is the same as the R12 with battery, it's more ergonomic, it cleans fish so easily. Bubba? I never ruined a fish with any filet knife before other than the Bubba. It is so underpowered and you have to use so much force to get it to go through a panfish that it is easy to cut one in half. The R12 glides through effortlessly. Do yourself a favor and skip the Bubba.... I wish I would have....
