I’ve been really impressed with this BeeCastle Langstroth hive. The beeswax coating is not only beautiful but incredibly practical—it saved me the time and hassle of painting, and it's holding up noticeably better than the painted hive sitting right next to it. After some time in the elements, the difference in weathering is obvious.Assembly was simple and straightforward. All parts were included, and the pre-cut dovetail joints and pre-drilled holes made everything fit tightly and securely. The quality of the wood is solid, and the hive feels sturdy and well-constructed.This kit came with everything I needed to get started, from frames and foundations to the mouse guard and queen excluder. Haven't tested the test of time yet but all went together nicely and solid. Doesn't mention using wood glue to assemble the frames, but probably should. Satisfied overall for product for the cost.

I've ordered 5 so far 3 were damaged in shipping but beecastle is very responsive and sends out replacement parts. Make sure to check your email if ordering through Amazon for their response. The box was about 60 lbs and I think that the delivery people drop it because it's so heavy cracking the wood or damaging the corners. However that being said the wax coated beehive is amazing and the quality of the wood, the fit of the sides and coating are all far superior to the one that is not coated. I highly recommend getting the beeswax coated hives. They are beautiful

Quality beehive. Everything fit together perfectly. No knots on frame wood. Screws instead of staples. Metal mouse guard/reducer included. I was very impressed with workmanship of this beehive.

I purchase two different kits of this style from two different vendors for the purpose to compare them each other. The hive and components look to be pretty solid. Plenty of wax on the boxes and parts. The inter cover was not notched for a top entrance so I will have to notch that myself. The joints are solid and the assembly was very easy and the wax made the seams seal up very well. The one draw back I found for both the kits was the shipping boxes. The carboard box was barely strong enough to hold all the components in the box. The shipping box should be a heavy box because the shippers are not gentle with these boxes and they had wholes punched into them. They might want to consider strapping the boxes also because when I open the box it just fell apart. I ended up with missing parts and having one of the med boxes being broken. Which they promptly replaced by their customer service reps.

Very solid and top quality materials. The Hive was easy to assemble and was much nicer than we anticipated. We had one piece that needed replacing. I reached out to customer service and they sent me 2 replacements within days. Can’t say enough nice things about this company they really are top notch.

I was nervous about this hive due to the price point listed. I have to say, I am more than pleased with the quality and the workmanship. BeeCastle went above and beyond! Quality wood, dovetail cuts are perfect, beeswax coating everywhere! Very easy to assemble. Just make sure you set aside a few hours to put all the frames together if you don't have a frame jig. I can't wait to move the girls into their new castle!
