I was just looking at my cart and it pointed out that these lights had a significant price reduction since I bought them three years ago. So I’m surely planning to buy at least another one. The lights are just right for my small closets. I have four closets that had no lights in before so I decided to use these. There was no room to wire a switch so I opted for the motion detector style and it was a good choice. They were not hard to install and all the lights went in without any real problems aside from crawling around in the attic running new wire, I’m way impressed with the way these lights work, brightness is fine, they easily light up the entire closet. Two of the closets have sliding doors and two of them have hinged doors. In either case the motion sensor picks up the movement when the doors are opened and viola, the lights come on. They’ve been working great for three years now and I’m very happy with them. I honestly don’t know what the bad reviews are about that I’ve read from other buyers.

At first I thought that I made a mistake in my purchase because the whole light fixture was so small. I thought its never going to light up my closet. Wrong. Admittedly, the closet is less than 4'x4' as its an historic home but the light is much brighter than the previous light fixture and one half the size. That's because there isn't an actual light bulb in the fixture. taking up space. What? Crazy technology but it works great. Unfortunately, the screws provided didn't match the size I needed to mount it to the steel box in the wall and so I was one screw short because the old fixture only had one screw in it holding it up. Luckily, I had more screws in the garage. I am a DIY'er, and I was scared to tackle this as I do not like electrical projects and usually call an expensive electrician. But, this was so simple; just reconnect the three wires to the wires in the wall and mount the bracket against the wall to the steel box in the wall. I mounted the steel bracket backwards of course and had to redo the wiring, but you learn as you go. The prongs face you so that the finial cap screws can hold the fixture to the wall bracket. I also marked the wires to make sure I knew which white wire connects to the black wire on the fixture. Why they make both wires white, coming out of the wall and one of the wires black on the fixture, I'll never know. But I just copied the old light fixture to make sure I did it right. I recommend the light, even for a larger closet. Love the design.

I've tested the motion sensing, but have not yet installed the light. The motion sensing seems to work well. The slim design and sensor location will ally this to be mounted nicely on the ceiling. However, the slim design also means that the body of the fixture will not completely cover the junction box. Thus, there is a metal plate on the back of the light to cover the box. It's not an attractive solution. Still, this was the best closet light I found.

Amazon has lumped several products together under one page, however this review is specific to the motion sensor version, and the usage application was in a closet. I thought it would be cool to have the lights turn on when the closet doors opened and that this would fit the bill, but boy was I wrong. This was easy to install as any normal light would , however the key defect in this product is the motion sensor. Installed about 8 inches above my closet door, the motion sensor does not activate the light unless I stick my hand up in to the closet and wave it around. This was not a single defect, I have these installed in every closet in every room of my new construction home, and each closet requires opening the door, sticking my hand up in the air and waving it around to activate the light. Other drawbacks - the light only stays on for 30 seconds, and there is no way to adjust the time it stays on, meaning when digging around in the closet for something you have to stop every 30 seconds and wave your hands up in the air to re-activate the light. There is also no override to the motion sensor, in the event that you want to just skip it and use a switch you can't.

This is a very nice light. The quality of the light is pleasant. It worked perfectly until we expanded our shelves higher and closer to the sensor. I think it might stay on if there is an object semi near the sensor, so I put a piece of black tape across the back part of the sensor and now it is working normally again.

Bought 3, meet all expectations. Easy to install. Motion sensor works perfect. 24” long and bright means plenty of light well distributed in the closet. Would buy it again.

Easy to install and work at the first installation

Have about 10 of these in various closets, etc. They all work great. Seem to last forever, are responsive, right level brightness and easy to install
