Kids' Fun and Healthy Cookbook Review: This book was great for my daughter - This book was great for my daughter. And I am sure it is good for kids of all ages too. It has very descriptive recipes with clear images and instructions. Easy to make, and lot's of fun. Cooking is a fun interest for kids. And they love following the recipes. It's mostly super healthy things so they also make better food choices. Totally worth the price. I am sure we will be using this cookbook for a long time! Review: This kids' cookbook deserves some type of award! - I'm not certain what type of award that should be, but I'd give it one. :) This thing is awesome! My son LOVES to help cook, so after looking extensively at kids' cookbooks here on desertcart, this one appeared to fit the bill. It won in every way when it arrived! First, it's real food the whole family can eat & enjoy. Although it's not grilled cheese & chicken nuggets (which we do eat, just in moderation), it's still kid-friendly. Second, the recipes are healthy & nutritious. LOVE that! Third, the lay out of the book is very catching & pleasing to the eye. Think that doesn't matter? Well, it does to kids AND even to adults...at least adults like me. It's soothing just reading through the recipes without making any of them. I love this book, and if you're looking for a cookbook with recipes your smaller kids can help you make, or one your older kids can fully make, this is it. Healthy, simple, yummy...good stuff!

kids cookbook with photos
I wanted a cookbook that I could sit with my 4 1/2 year old and 7 year old grandsons and choose things to make... There are several things I think will tempt them... I want to encourage my boys to try new things and have a part in the process of the cooking. This book has wonderful full color photos on most of the book. You "eat" with your eyes first... this is important - especially when trying to get kids involved. I will update my review as we have tried a few things. Why not 5 stars.... a hard spine... not a spiral - which makes it easier to keep open... *meh*... I do like the healthier recipes. I didn't see anything that you needed a degree to get done - which is good cause we are trying to get kids involved here! There are easy to follow step by step directions. The 7 year old reads so he is going to jump on the details. The 4 1/2 year old will like the photos. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful... and I do hope this info was helpful to you in some way!

Finally...a truly healthy cookbook for kids
I bought this book for my 3 yr old son, who loves to cook, for Christmas. Although I must help him with some steps, it is age appropriate for all levels of children. He is able to help me do something in each recipe. However, the thing I'm most excited about is that this is truly a healthy cookbook with recipes kids love. Our family has been trying to eat high-fiber 'clean' meals whenever possible and this cookbook totally supports that! Nowadays so many books consider typical cheese pizza to be healthy because they claim kids get their vegetables in the tomato sauce, nevermind the refined flour & incredible amount of fat in the cheese -- it's so hard to find a book that is truly healthy without phony 'healthy' ingredients/recipes. I love this book! She uses whole wheat flour, plain yogurt, honey, oats, nuts, etc -- all the ingredients used in clean eating. As a bonus, it includes healthy tips for kids who are older & can read. My only complaint would be that it does not include nutrition info for each recipe. Other than that, awesome book!

really good cookbook
We got this book for one of our grandsons - he's 8 and has expressed an interest in cooking. Along with the book, we gave him the ingredients for one of the recipes, sticky ribs. He made it for dinner that night and it was a big success - the 4 boys in the family liked it immensely. I asked his mom how it went during the cooking and preparing. She said that it was pretty easy and that the directions were great. She also put a picture of the finished product on her Facebook page. All in all, I would recommend this cookbook to anyone.

Great book
This book has lots of good recipes and food information. It is a little more complex than most kid cookbooks I've come across, which is great (not just toast with jelly recipes). It has information about how some foods help your body and are good for you. We have tried several recipes the lamb kabobs (we used ground chicken) were the favorite for my kids. The tofu pita pockets were not well received by my family though I liked them. Keep in mind these are healthier recipes so if your not into that you probably won't like this. It was nice to have some new ideas I get sick of cooking the same stuff all the time!

Really helps kids learn their way around a kitchen :)
I bought this for my youngest granddaughter's birthday because she's shown a strong interest in cooking and baking. I was very impressed with the simplicity of most of the recipes, as well as the fact that the recipes are pretty healthy options. My daughter, her mother, says they're having a lot of fun with it (and "Betty Crocker Kids Cook!" another 'kids' cookbook I gifted at the same time), and they all enjoy the food. It's marketed to children, but, she says the food's really good.

Nice Children's Cookbook!
This is a nice cookbook to add to your collection. Each recipe has photographs of the finished product, and many photographs of the steps involved in making each recipe. The recipes are fairly healthy, and kid approved! This book offers some unique recipes, as well as some tried and true recipes. The book also covers nutrition based on the food pyramid, which was the only negative for me. I firmly believe past and present food pyramids focus way too heavily on carbohydrates and low fat diets. Nevertheless, if parents supervise the recipes and make sure their children are choosing recipes that contain whole grains and healthy fats like butter and olive oil, then this cookbook will help their child to eat closer to the earth. I can't emphasize enough to cut-out all high fructose corn syrup and trans fats from your diet. I highly recommend Michael Pollan's books, esp. "In Defense of Food."

I loved the pictures and simple instructions. My oldest great grand daughter, whom I collect these for, found the pages entertaining but a bit too busy. She loved reading the books and scanning the pages but hasn't cooked anything from it yet.
