A bit costly but the alternative is even more so, how much do YOU value your life? I did an incredible amount of research BEFORE making my purchase of this item since I knew I would be betting my life on it. This PFD will float you on your back (not face down) AUTOMATICALLY if for some reason you were to be unconscious during an in water emergency such as a boating accident. I bought not just ONE but THREE of these sleek designed PFDs to ensure those who also fish with me have the proper life saving gear that is EASILY and COMFORTABLY worn during our weekend fish slaying activities. (There IS a recharge kit that is also available). This is a PREMIUM product so I DO NOT leave these in my boat during storage; but instead, hang them in my bedroom closet on a hanger. (Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you). If you're on the water and value your life, then this product is for YOU!

I've had several products like this in the past this is a top-of-the-line product and is not the least expensive however when it comes to protecting life if you fall in the water - get the best and this is the best

This is a comfortable product that I wear any time the boat is in motion. Buying something you will actually wear and not just stick under a seat makes much more sense for life jackets.

I’ve always wanted a Mustang life jacket and I’m glad I finally have one. It’s fits like a glove and is very compact for what it delivers. Extremely comfortable and perfect location for the manual handle release. Some life jackets have an exposed yellow tab that hangs down precariously and if caught on something can accidentally release the compressed air filling up the life jacket. This model has the release handle located perfectly away from accidental discharge. If you want the best life jacket this is the one for you.

I will have no idea how it works until I HAVE to use it. Hopefully that never happens. It fit me well over my rain jacket. TIP: (put your hood up on your head before putting this life jacket on. Otherwise you will be fighting to get your hood up and end up accidentally threading it through the hook hanger like I did. One review said it would automatically float you upright in the event you are knocked out in boating accident......but hey...if you are knocked out, you won't be awake to pull the cord, so........ hasta la vista baby! I have never worn a life jacket my entire life....but I'll be turning 60 soon and since I hunt and fish late in the year in the Northwoods, if I want to survive a tumble over, I will have to rely on this over swimming. As much as I think I still am able, my body tends to disagree anymore. Better safe than sorry. I just wish I knew how long the co2 lasted before a recharge is necessary.

What price do you put on your life. I put it on every time I get in the boat. 5 people lost there life's because they were not wearing there life jackets this year on the Columbia River. One was 11 year old.

I was disappointed that only 4 years was left on the rearm date; however, I still rate it as 5 stars because I would not be without it. This is a replacement for my 17 year old Mustang Survival Hydrostatic inflatable vest. Even though I am a good swimmer, I wear the vest 100% of my time in the boat. It is very comfortable, and I am hardly aware that I am wearing it.

This thing fits me well and I’m a big guy. I really think I’ll wear this all day fishing. I got it on sale at a decent price. It would be nice if it came in a mesh bag for storage in a boat compartment.

i have not used the item yet since it is winter but it is made of very good quality material and a good fit for wife and i which are different in size
