Q: Does the unit allow you to pause and play from inside the shower if your phone is outside?

Nope. There are only four buttons on the speaker: Vol up, vol down, power, and Bluetooth search. A water proof phone case is preferred with this device.

Q: Do you need to use the app to control this, or can it just connect and play through bluetooth?

You do not need the app. You can just connect via Bluetooth or wired.

Q: Can i pair this with another ue speaker by tapping them together like the megaboom?

To clarify, you can pair any two UE speakers with each other. I've paired a Roll 2 to a Boom 2 and to a Megaboom...just not at the same time.

Q: What is the other port for next to the charging port? I got mine & hooked up and playing in a few minutes.

Auxilary Input, (its not a headphone jack, but uses the same size cable). Use a standard 3.5 mm (1/8") mini cable male to male. You can go from your headphone jack on your phone to the UE Roll without using the Bluetooth wireless feature.
