Silk Elements Pure Oils Hair Butter, 6oz

I love this stuff. I mainly use it after I flat iron my hair. I have natural black hair which means its curly as all heck and wants to be dry as straw. I recently started flat ironing it once a week because doing that has allowed my hair to hold moisture better thus have less breakage and actually retain the new length but the problem was finding a moisturizer that lacked water or had very little because it would revert my hair. Everything I was finding was loaded with water or if it didn't have water it was full of parabens and other unhealthy stuff. This stuff goes a long way. Just a little and your hair is soft, smooth, shiny and detangled for like 2-3 days before you need to apply more. Also because its like all oils, it repels water allowing me to go a whole week with my hair staying straight. When I comb my hair I get very little hair breakage. It's very lightweight and non greasy so you don't have to worry about staining your pillows. I definitely recommend this to be used regularly. I'm a fan!

It feels great on the hair. I'm a course 360ish, balding waver. It's true! Excellent product. Pure Oil Silk Elements packs natural ingredients to keep my hair healthy and vibrant half the day... My hair doesn't hold moister well; but Wait, the more I use the longer my hair stays moisturized. I'm taking about with only one application. Bewarw: It can a bit oily and run down your face if you work up a sweat.

Absolutely love this product. But it’s getting really pricey

Its different from the Pink Lotion and Garnier products I use and it took a little for my hair and scalp to adjust, but I believe my hair's health and feel are better. So I'm starting to use it more now and my hair feels great!

I have fine, curly-ish hair and that means frizz when it's humid or if I brush my curls out they can get frizzy until they relax again. This hair butter works really well to reduce frizz and to get my curls back to a more piece-y look. My mom uses this hair butter, too, and also likes it. I hate fragranced products with a passion, but I was surprised to not be bothered by the smell of this butter. It's a very light, natural coconut-y fragrance and I like it. That says a lot - I am not kidding: I abhor fragrance! Something about the way this product smells is totally tolerable and natural. Also, a little bit goes a long way. I feel like I'm going to have this jar for a year. Also, don't wash it off of your hands - use excess on your arms or other places that can use some moisturizing.

I bought this product once before from Sally's because of the natural ingredients and great price. Wasn't expecting much but ended up loving it! Went back and bought a few more to stock up. The first jar didn't have a smell, I appreciated it because of allergies. The other jars I eventually opened smelled chemical, like the product took on the smell of the packaging or it went bad or something. Went back to the store to exchange and out of all the jars there only one didn't have that strong smell. Decided to order off Amazon hoping for another good jar without the smell but unfortunately it too smelled like paint. This is a real bummer because I don't dislike anything about the product itself. For a hair grease this stuff provides amazing hold; better than any gel or cream I've used and trust I've tried em all. This butter exceeded my expectations. It's absolutely PERFECT for twists and I plan to one day try it for a wash n go. For reference I have 4a-c bra strap length hair. In the past I've worn mostly wash n gos but I've recently committed to wearing my hair stretched more to retain length better. I stopped using creams and gels and looked for a natural hair grease because my hair was always so dry still using those other products. So I figured I'd go back to what was used on my hair in my youth, good ol hair grease. I was so excited to find this natural oil based butter. Many natural products labeled "butter" end up being water based and not a true grease so these oil based ones are not easy to find. I used this product for twists. First thing I noticed was it goes on so smooth and gives definition and shine. I don't need a leave in or anything just this on freshly washed hair. It isn't greasy, unless you use too much. It can be lumpy but just let it sit out at room temp and problem solved. Second thing I noticed was as my hair style aged I didn't have frizz and my hair felt soft, looked soft and was shiny still *insert mind blown emoji here*! I've been natural for 9 years and I NEVER imagined my hair could be so soft and moisturized until I tried this. Notice a couple of sentences up I said "looked" soft. You know how a baby's hair has a soft look... this is what this product gave me, it's crazy. Soft "looking" hair wasn't even on my radar to have but bam there it is. Apparently this product is what my hair has been missing and needing. My twists lasts for 3 weeks without refreshing them, literally 2 weeks in I'm still getting compliments on how nice my hair looks, cause it holds up so well. I could probably keep them in longer if I made them smaller, they're usually more smedium sized twists (they're not big but could be smaller if I had more time). All I do is put on a bonnet at night. In the past with gels and water based creams my twist last about 1.5 weeks before I have to take them down because my hair gets frizzy and scalp starts to flake. Not the case with this product at all. I recently tried Mane Choice's hair butter to take this one's place but it didn't even come close, wanted to take my twists down the next day they were so dry. I will continue to try going store to store until I find some jars that don't smell so I can stock up. If I'm able to find them I'll probably immediately transfer the product from it's own packaging and into my own amber jar and refrigerate to ensure it keeps. I have a strong feeling the packaging is the main culprit in the smell that the product develops, the foil lid maybe idk but I hope the company looks into changing it but keeps everything about the butter itself exactly the same cause it's truly an awesome product that everyone natural needs to have in their closet.

This product has been a favorite of mine for years. Its formula is exactly what my hair loves. It has been out of stock in most stores, I could ONLY find it on Amazon where it was offered by "Rogue Gypsy". For years, I had bought it in a 6 ounce a jar in stores for $8. In my desperation, being unable to find a comparable product, I found myself in a quandary. I paid $48 (forty-eight dollars) for the same 6 ounce container on Amazon. I am taking a vacation from Amazon for a time as I wait for the the 'sting' of this purchase to wear off! 🤔.
