This is very far from my field of knowledge. The book is easy to understand for a lay person, especially with some googling of terms. Gives a great overview of macroeconomics. This book is great if you want to understand the basics of marco without going into many details.

Best book I've read this year. As the title says, it is concise. Clear with thoughtful examples with unbiased descriptions of conflicting theories. Unlike some older texts, the author includes results from behavioral economics. Read page 146, "Uses and Misuses of Macroeconomics" first because it is perhaps the most important page in the book. If you are taking a macro economics course, you can read this book in a few hours and it will make the course material easier to understand. If you are an amateur investor who reads the financial pages, this book is worth your while. Again, start with page 146 where the author's warnings explain why some opinion pieces published in the financial journals are nonsense (or political ax-grinding).

I bought this book to try to understand macroeconomics, so growth, GDP, inflation, real and nominal, supply and demand, cross border trade, balance of payments, deficit spending a la Keynes, national and international economic relationships, etc. This author is a superior communicator and teaches the subject so well. I would recommend this excellent introduction to macroeconomics to anyone like me who needs to understand it without getting in too deep. Five stars from me.
