Uh-oh. My review of the extra large La Belle pins should have gone here. They were,as billed, large and strong, and you get a larger pack of them; but they were not strong enough for my purposes. (I was pinning together two single mattresses to make a king.)These pins served very well. I think I said they are as strong as industrial rivers. They will not pop open! They aresostrong you may need pliers to shut them. Also if you need them to penetrate densely woven fabric, you'll need a grinder to sharpen the blunt ends which are fashioned to go through the open weave of a blanket.

These look like safety pins but they are not sharp. They are more like a used #2 pencil point. That’s OK though - you will only use them on very open-weave fabric applications or things you punch out first. You can sharpen them if you have a grinding wheel or Dremel tool and are so inclined. Worth getting for special needs…

When I was a kid many, many years ago, my father gave me a brass safety pin this size from his US Navy seabag. Apparently they used them for all sorts of things and I kept (and used) that pin for decades. I lost track of it over the years and wanted to replace it with something similar. You know how hard it is to find these big pins? I stumbled across these looking for something else and immediately placed an order. Heavy duty doesn't give these pins their due. It takes strong fingers to open and close them but that is what makes them so good. I have already used the first order up on projects in my wood shop and in the house and just placed another order. If your have a weak grip you might want to avoid these just because they are so hard to open and close. Other than that their functionality is limited only by your imagination.

These were incredible! I wanted something to attach my bath mat to a thick Oriental carpet in my bathroom. The mat kept sliding and, since I'm OCD, it upset me to constantly straighten the mat out next to the shower. I've never seen, nor did I know such pins were made. I suppose they'd be great to turn a blanket into a cape or body covering in a cold room. They are very sturdy and need a strong grip to open them. In addition, since they're stainless steel, you could use them in moist environments or out of doors.

These are excellent quality, MASSIVE five inch safety pins! The tips are not needle pointed but rather blunt, like the tip of a dull lead pencil, and seem to be best suited for safety pinning heavy tarps and such together. They are incredibly handy to have while camping and at the ranch to clip things up as needed in places too narrow for a carabiner.They are constructed of a good quality, sturdy stainless steel and the pack of 10 is plenty for creating impromptu tarp shelters to protect expensive gear from the rain. Once they're in your hand, you'll find plenty of outdoor uses for them!

Used these to fasten removeable outdoor furniture covers. A little hard to fasten but worked great. Really heavy duty.

These are sturdy and I imagine very durableBut if you are planning on putting these through any fabric- the tip is DULL and it couldn’t pierce anything.
