Worth the purchase
I was shopping for a while for snow throwers that run off a battery. It was between this and the ego. This unit didn’t disappoint and is built solid for an electric snow thrower. I had some snow piled up from a few weeks ago, it was heavier and had a layer of ice on top from melting and freezing, this machine chewed it up and spit it out with ease. I am very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend this product. Only thing I suggest, read the instructions. You don’t need them to assemble the unit as it’s simple to put together. I thought it was faulty at first, but there is a safety feature you won’t know about in the start up process without reading the manual. It will drive but the auger will not engage unless you follow it. The safety button is the on/off button, it wasn’t labeled clearly in the manual or on the unit. Still an excellent item as that’s the only issue I had with it and it was caused by my own impatience.

Don't waste your money! It is poorly made and doesn't work
After charging the battery I found that power was not getting to the console. Nothing worked! The only way to get a refund is if I disassemble the machine and put it back in its original box. The service centers in my area do not deal with their battery operated devices. Total waste of my money!

What to do with chute?
Just used my battery operated snowblower! Did the job well! Only complaint I have is , the electric chute would not go left or right when I hit the button! Had to move by hand! Any suggestions for future use! Maybe spraying with Pam?

Broke On 3rd Use
First, this machine looks great, and the fact that I don't need gas is great. Now for the ugly: 1. The battery lasted approximately 42 minutes each use, not 90 minutes like I read. I did not even have it on the fourth speed. I mostly used it on the second speed. Once I did my driveway, I would have to charge the battery to do the front of my small home...my drive is about 72' X 6'. 2. You have to stop the auger to operate the chute. There is no changing direct of the way that the blower throws the snow while its moving or the auger is going; this really slowed me down. Now that I think about it, restarting the auger so much may have killed the battery faster. 3. On my 3rd use (literally) , I got about 10ft out of the garage and the blower stopped moving. I was so embarrassed with all my neighbors watching with their tiny snow blowers. At least theirs worked. The drive button underneath the drive trigger broke. So, the auger and everything else works, but it won't move. Poorly built. Really wish I could get a refund. To top it off, my neighbor tells me "you moved a lot faster with your shovel brother!" Just what I needed to hear...Seriously. **Deep Sigh**

Updated review
So far, I am giving it one star. I had already ordered mine by the time the other reviews were posted. I might have changed my mind, after reading them. Ok... I assembled the unit, charged the battery. Mine worked! I waited until this morning to try it out. It goes forward at all 4 speeds. And it goes in reverse. The LED headlight is definitely bright. If only the auger would spin, it would be the perfect machine. I'll try to contact customer service on Monday. I may change my review of they have an answer. If not... I'll be returning it. I read further reviews, it appears that the "Safety Switch" that no one has been able to locate is actually the "On/Off" switch. The auger now spins very fast. However, I didn't discover this until the snow was gone. Customer Service for this unit is non-existent. I have tried many times to contact them. I am raising my rating to three stars. Once I have tried it in the snow, I may raise it more. Has anyone been able to purchase an additional battery?

To engage the auger, hold the On/Off Button then squeeze the left handle
So there are a few downsides to this snow blower. First, the axle is locked, so turning is difficult. Second, the chute cannot rotate when the auger is engaged. When one makes a pass and turns around, the auger must be disengaged and the chute can be rotated 170º. Here are the pros of this snow blower. It has an extremely strong and fast moving auger. It can handle up to 20" snow drifts. It automatically switches between stage one and stage two based on the amount of torque placed on the brushless motor. I think this is a good feature, because there is no need to manually switch between auger stages. It can move quickly in F3 and F4. This snow blower is way better than my 30 year old self propelled gasoline snow blower, even though my old one spins the wheels separately. You need two 10mm wrenches or a 10mm wrench and socket to install the chute and a 13mm wrench or socket to install the skid shoes. The handle has hand turn nuts. It takes 20 minutes to assemble by yourself. The battery takes about 45m to charge when dead, and the run time is between 30-45m. I purchased a second battery so I can continuously use the snow blower. I have not used it to plow snow yet, but as soon as the first snow storm hits, I will be ready with the PowerSmart snow blower. FYI, the safety switch is the On/Off button. To operate, install a charged battery into the battery slot under the hood, then insert the safety key inside the battery compartment, then click the On/Off button. To engage the auger, press and hold the On/Off button and squeeze the left hand trigger, once the auger is running you can let go of the On/Off button. It has 4x Forward speeds and 1x Reverse speed. There is a F and R button on the right handle, press the R button and squeeze the trigger to reverse. Press the F button and squeeze the trigger to go forward, then you can adjust speeds 1-4 using the up and down buttons on the center control panel righty next to where the gear is lit up.
