Klein Tools 32518 Replacement Tap, Double-Ended, for Cat. No. 32517

I have been using this tap driver for over 50 years and find it indispensable. It is a must have tool for electricians but finds use in most other trades as well. When the threads get messed up on 6/32, 8/32/, 8/24, 10/24, 12/24 or 1/4-20 threaded holes or nuts they are easily remedied by simply choosing the correct size thread you want, inserting the tool, aligning it correctly (easy) and turning it in carefully. It is high quality high carbon steel which is necessary to cut or chase threads without damaging the tool. It is good for hundreds or thousands of uses if used carefully. Because it is high carbon it is brittle and can be easily broken, make sure to run it straight and it will do fine work cleaning and rethreading ----------- or threading holes for you. Cleaning out rust, paint, or straightening out messed up threads, it does it all quickly neatly and easily. But remember they can break if miss used by yourself or your help. I am making this purchase for a replacement of a broken tap which was about ten years old. J W

A must for any electricians and handy man/woman. You will need to buy the multi-bit tap tool driver, for as you can see this is only the replacement tap. You will not be disappointed when you need it. Ordering very simple and delivery was on time, actually I received the product earlier than the date given. There is no substitute for this tool when you have a stripped junction box. Works like a charm and fits perfectly into my Klein 10-1. The two ends of the reversible shaft on the 10-1 are slightly different sizes, which I hadn’t noticed before. This part only fits into the larger of the two ends. I wish there was a way to store this with the tool when not in use, but there really isn’t. I don’t hold this against Klein, because I’m sure they named it 10-1 and not 11-1 for a reason. I found a good spot in my tool pouch to stash this safely for the moments this is needed. Bought this for one specific junction box, and have already needed it on another. If it ever fails, I would order it again in a second.
