On 1st July 2018, the European aircraft manufacturer took over the majority of the Bombardier C-series program and quickly renamed it to A220-100 and A220-300 (formerly CS100 or CS300). The new A220 complements the Airbus range and offers economic advantages over its own developments A318 and A319.
