This works great for small gas engines that have not ran for awhile. Old gas containing alcohol will also plug carbs and stick everything together. I had to start an old snow blower that had not ran several years. Used one ounce of this and 8 ounces of good premium no-alcohol gas and had the old Tecumseh Snow King engine purring in about 20 minutes. Works similar to Sea Foam but I think it unsticks carbs better.

This product has "saved" quite a few pieces of power equipment. I was given an almost new trimmer that would not start. Added MIB and let sit overnight. I was able to start it the next day and slowly the trimmer ran better and better. I sold the trimmer in a garage sale at a nice profit. i add the product to gas every few weeks and my machines run like new. Most recently I had a power washer that would only run but a minute at a time. Added the product into the carb and let it soak. Runs like new. I have recommended MIB to friends who called it "snake oil". They all are believers now.

My mower worked fine the first season, but the second season, even after doing all the scheduled maintenance, it was running funny. It would start up fine, but then began stalling after 15 or 20 minutes. I called Cub Cadet and they said it sounded like I had a clogged fuel cap vent, so I bought a new one and that didn't help at all. Just before the 3 year warranty expired I brought the mower in for warranty service. They guy told me that he could take a look at it, but it was probably a fuel issue and the warranty doesn't cover fuel issues, and it would likely cost $180 (for a mower that cost me $250 new). I asked that if it was a fuel issue why did it start up fine and run with no problem for 15 or 20 minutes before starting to stall? He said that likely the automatic choke is on initially, then when the engine warms up the choke turns off and then the mower starts stalling. He said that it is likely that something inside the carb is likely gummed up. He recommended Mechanic-in-a-Bottle. It was expensive for a 4 ounce bottle, but cheap compared to a carburetor repair. I gave it a try and it worked like a champ. No more stalling at all. This stuff is the best.

I fun this in all 2-cycle engines - blower, trimmer, and chainsaw. Since starting to use Mechanic in a Bottle 10 years ago, it's cut down on carburetor problems by 80-90%.Also put a 16oz bottle of it into the gas tank of my Jeep 5.7 Hemi once or twice a year to clean fuel system. After 2-3 days of driving it's noticeable and running smoother.One of the best fuel additives out there. Highly recommended and I am not sponsored, this is experience.
