Anime Studio Debut 10

So much options in a child-friendly program. Suitable for kids older than 12 to adult. Very advanced features! Great product for someone who wants a serious animation software but doesn't want to spend serious money until they know this hobby is what they would like to pursue.

IT IS A TRULY amazing product. There are so many cool features in it to make 2d animation for that kind of price is mind blowing if you compare it to adobe. However this product is not 5 stars because even with the tutorials its hard to learn how to use it. especially if the tutorials in their videos are not the same program as yours. The programs they have in the videos may have the same concept but buttons like scripts are missing in this program, so you will have to be creative about it. It takes a tremendous amount of patients to master it. So if you have the time, go ahead and buy it!

The low price for this is great! My daughter wants to animate things in her free time so we bought her this because it the lowest priced but highest rated item we could locate that did what she was looking for. She is thrilled with it and has learned a lot using it. It is a little intimidating at first especially when given to a first time user (my daughter is 10) but she picked up on how to use it fairly quickly. I highly recommend.

ok, needs more there is an upgrade though...

I'm a loooooooooooong time Adobe user who worked on Flash animations for years until it became unfashionable. Thought about a getting something non-adobe to make some simple 2d animations. This software has a terrible UI. The controls are not intuitive. Creating anything other than simple graphics is like a masochistic event. The complexity of the libraries do not appear that they could have been created with this software. They came from something far more featureful which poses a problem working with them in such a cludgy UI. Installing & licensing is also an issue. Maintaining your license on a fresh install OS could mean having to contact their support team to unlock it. Best to save your money on something more user friendly, better support, UI, well....everything. Versions 11, 12 aren't any improvements either.

I hope someone tells me I'm wrong but I was really hoping to draw and animate my own characters with the "bone" feature, but the note on the screen said you can only use bones on the pre-made characters and you can not add them to something you drew yourself. If this is true its disappointing - If not I would love to know a workaround. Unless this is a drawback to the debut versoin?

It is no easy to use. It sound easy to use but it really not at all. But it was a good price. It is outdated they change the name and updated the software. I'm sure it would take no time to learn but it doesn't work like I thought it should.
