Does it come with extra parts or different parts.

I think it has some extra parts but I believe it only has the parts to make it 4x4, had different drive shafts 3 or 4 total. Some of the parts trees I believe are used for the 4x4 2wd long box and the 2wd short box or same tree for all three kits. It's been over a year since I built it, so I'm a little fuzzy of what parts I had left over.

How many pieces are in the kit?

Too many. I thought this would be a fun kit for my son to put together at home during Covid quarantine. It came and it has soooo many pieces, has to be painted....it wasn't just a fun little hour project. Looks more time consuming and he never even wanted to put it together.

Do you have to paint it?

The kit is molded in white plastic, you don't have to paint it but the purpose of a model kit is to paint it in all the different colors a real truck would look like.
