I'm a former military dog handler and trainer. I've used muzzles many times for military working dogs and know a quality muzzle when I see and use one. This is a quality muzzle in design, strength, and leather. Once you make the adjustments for a proper fit, it is very effective. Make sure it is snug all around and when you grab the nose of the muzzle, with the muzzle on the dog, you should be able to tug on it without pulling the muzzle off the dogs head.. Don't be afraid to lift the dogs front feet off the ground temporarily testing the proper fit and tightness.

So 1st and foremost, I bought muzzles for my Malinois as a proactive step to problems with offleash dogs while walking, biking or training my dogs off my own property. Malinois are high drive dogs and I didn't want to risk the chance of injury to them or other dogs. The muzzle seems well made, it did seems confusing trying to put it on but i looked at the pictures of the muzzle on amazon for help. I had already been conditioning my dogs to accept muzzles by hand feeding them treats or their food through the leash loop. When I got the muzzle I just dropped treats into the muzzle to get them to stick their nose in vs forcing it on them. Found that trick on youtube. Taking care of the leather muzzle shouldn't be hard. Do not use peroxide as that eats away at leather. Wipe it with a wet rag and use non toxic oils to oil it. Boot leather conditioners will.be toxic to dogs, so you can use coconut oil, linseed oil, mink oil etc. Do not use excessive amounts, just enough to keep it in good condition. Wipe down with every use if its wet or dirty. Muzzles arent meant to be a fix all to destructive behavior. You need to redirect that energry towards treat filled kongs, exercise, training etc. My dogs are high energry so biking, treadmills, tire pulling, tug or war are all essential to their daily routines. And i have cats that my boy Thrasher wants to chase, the muzzle will help, but he often has his bungee tug toy he redirects his frustration about the cat to. If your dog is destroying your muzzle, you should consider using treats to condition them to it or less time with muzzle on and more actitives to get that energry out.

unfortunately had to get a different style this muzzle doesn’t keep my dog from barking. Otherwise it fits nicely and keeps her from biting.

Ok, so I've had this for close to 4 years now. It's a good muzzle, but the issue is the difficulty putting it on. And I'm not talking about the dog having issues, it's the actual putting it on. I cannot do it myself with a moving dog and my boyfriend finds it extremely frustrating. Because of it, my boyfriend has to come with me to all the vet visits because I don't want my baby being stuck in the thing for the trip (which scares me cause I don't like driving with my baby in the car to begin with. I'd love to find one that still works to keep any possible bites (he's never done it, but better safe than sorry) from happening but also is easier than trying to get this thing on. Otherwise, it does fit and that's hard on my dog with his unique shape and size. He's a huge GSM. German Shepherd Muttt, emphasis on Mutt! It's also very stiff, so you'll need to do some leatherwork to make it a bit more flexible.

I ordered a brown one and receive a grey one! Not happy but it’s whatever. It’s already here and I will not wait for smoother few days to arrive

Fit for my medium 80 lb German shepherd

Well made and very adjustable so that our German Shepherd has enough space to breathe, pant, and probably drink if needed but not so much that he has been able to slip out, though he is smart enough to keep trying. Only worn for short periods so far. Purchased for upcoming vacation where people will be staying in the same cabin. Our boy isn't at all friendly with strangers & especially adult males. The look alone should encourage strangers to stay back. The color and leather structure against his dark face makes him look bad-ass! Surprised how many people try to walk right up my 3' tall, 85 lbs Shepherd, sticking their hands in his face. He is a rescue dog who was obviously beaten by a man. He loves women, kids, and all other dogs. Best dog ever so long as he only eats the uninvited intruder. As for those he gets free rein! As you can see he isn't all that excited about wearing it.

Der Maulkorb ist seit längerem im Einsatz. Sehr stabil und groß genug, sodass de Hund auch hecheln kann. Die vielen Schnallen sind zunächst etwas herausfordernd. Aber einmal eingestellt , gelingt das Auf- und Absetzten des Maulkorbes gut und er rutscht nicht einfach runter.
