Family History Record Book: An 8-generation family tree workbook to record your research Paperback – 26 Nov. 2020

This book is great for putting together your family tree. It has an easy to read breakdown of the generations from yourself to your fifth great grandparents. There is also a section for each person to write more details about that individual. I have found it easy to complete and easy to see where information is missing or doesn’t make sense. I would definitely recommend it.

Lovely way to keep your family history organised especially for future generations. I wish the book had the option to go further than starting with the person who is doing the book. I gifted this to my mum and it doesn’t have space to have her kids/grandkids etc as it starts with her.

Excellent product, great value

Nice, robust book. Good place to record the basics. Some boxes a bit small so you will need need handwriting. Fairly easy to follow and understand what page to go to next if you are in to family history, but gave to son to have a look through and he struggled at times to grasp the concept of who was where and then on to which page. Only records the basic BMD type info. There are some boxes for other dates in someone's life and I have added census data here. I am completing this to gand over to my son so he has the basics as he isn't yet into his ancestry but may be in the future when I'm gone, by which time he may no longer be able to access my comprehensive tree on my computer!

A good size book, clear and easy to follow instructions on how to use the book correctly, there is plenty of space to add information, I will be buying several more of these for other family members.

At the beginning of the first UK lockdown I decided to revisit all my family history research; so many more records are available online, and I also wanted to check and double-check all my sources. I bought two of these books and intend eventually to have one for each of my four grandparents' lines (so rather than starting with myself, each book starts with a grandparent, meaning I can record up to my 7xgreat grandparents. The layout is easy to follow, with each person uniquely numbered and with at-a-glance BMD info on the 'tree view'. The space for each fact/source in the expanded view is quite small (I use a 0.3 gel pen), but there are usually enough lines for each person. It's been really useful writing up all the facts and sources as I check them on my Ancestry.co.uk tree, highlighting key occupations, locations etc as a good quick reference too.
