Wow I love this axe! This seller had a great price on the 18 inch model. I changed the handle to a 26 inch and couldn't be happier. Blade came razor sharp 👌

I’ve got a handful of fine axes from Sweden, and this one fits right in. I did have to drill a hole on the bottom of the handle. The handle was well made and the grain alignment is the same as the other high end axes—not a grade A handle. But the handle with BLO polishes up nicely.

I bought this, I don't know why, I live in an apartment, but I love it. It is so beautiful just to look at. I have often found myself just staring at it. The hammer side and the blade area are hardened steel. There is a little bluing, where it was hardened, which is very impressive looking. I would never use it to hammer anything as I am sure I would split my head open-even with the sheath on. I did sand the handle and apply a few coats of boiled linseed oil because you know. It didn't change the color much. The handle is ever so slightly warped to one side. I could bend it back but I think I'll just leave it be since it is barely noticeable and it is wood after all. I tried it out on a tree that had fallen and it was fine but not much better than my $13 hardware store hatchet, which has a shorter handle, is lighter and, which I had sharpened. I will, of course, take this Wood-Craft Pack Axe camping. I may just go camping so I can take it. Myself, I would have liked a smaller and thicker handle. The experts, however, like a thin longer handle because it is less tiresome to use, they say. The price is very fair considering the competition is almost twice as expensive. All in all, I feel like I should put on a suit of armor, mount a horse and carry this bad boy into medieval battle.
