KitchenCraft Living Nostalgia Metal Kitchen Compost Bin

My mom loved it for mother’s day! I do wish it was a tiny bit bigger as it filled up quickly, but other then that it is super cute and does look very nice in the kitchen.

This bin is just what I needed. It's the right size for any kitchen top and its design is beautiful. However, the purpose of the filter is not clear to me. It is true that no smell is coming from the bin although there are holes in the lid - so the filter must reduce the smell significanlty - but for fruitflies there is still enough smell coming out to find their way to and into the bin. Luckily enough, the critters can't get out on their own. They're stuck in the compost bin. So in summer, I open the bin outside my home, so the flies escape in the open air and out they are from the kitchen. In that respect the bin is also a good fruitfly trap ;-). I suppose I won't have that problem in winter. Still, I award this compost bin five stars since I'm not entirely sure any other bin would keep fruitflies away - but they are certainly not as fancy.

Je cherchais depuis un petit temps un remplacement pour la boîte en plastique qui servait d'intermédiaire avant de porter les restes au compost du fond du jardin. Très pratique et sans odeur. La bonne grandeur.

Looks great on my counter to keep the garbage tucked away and not a mess.
