I discovered many years ago that the little cans of tomato paste I grew up with had almost no flavor at all. I’d sauté them in olive oil, add seasoning, but they still had very little flavor. You couldn’t use just a few tablespoons, as the rest would spoil. Then I discovered those curious aluminum toothpaste tubes of double or triple concentrated tomato paste from Italy. It only took a few tablespoons to add great depth and complexity to a soup, sauce, or stew, and one tube lasted a long time, as you could reseal it. I’ve been using a variety of concentrated tomato pastes, but not long ago I read that Mutti is the biggest selling brand of tomato paste in Italy. That means something, as Italy is a country where people take cooking and ingredients seriously. It’s a place where neighboring regions or cities can argue endlessly about whose version of ricotta is best, who invented tortellini, and whether the Neapolitans or the Romans make the best pizza. They should know a thing or two about tomato paste, and they do. This may well be the best tomato paste I have yet tried. I can’t say without buying half a dozen tubes and spending an afternoon tasting tomato paste, and I’m not going to do that. But I can say that this is a superior tomato paste, with excellent depth of flavor.

You get alot for a reasonable price. As you see I haven't used it all yet. It makes a difference in your recipes.

Wow! This stuff makes the difference! I use it for all sorts of stews and pastas, not only as the traditional tomato paste but for a flavor enhancer for many dishes. It really adds a depth of flavor and the Mutti brand is superior over others!

This a product that definitely warrants a FIVE Star rating. It is extremely easy to use...one only needs to squeeze if from a tube...to add such a depth of natural Umami flavor to whatever dish you are working on for that day's meals. Love adding Mutti Triple Concentrate Tomato Paste to stews, soups, pot roast as well as all the meats that are braised. Sometimes it can be difficult to find in stock at our local grocery stores, so ordering here on Amazon makes it so simple to keep stocked in our pantry. It can be used in any recipe that calls for tomato paste. Please try it; you will be happy that you did. Be creative and test it for different applications, like in a marinade, for example. Enjoy!

I have tried different brands and prefer this one. However--this time I received ones with a 2 month expiration date. That is too short. Will not be purchasing again.

Wow! I'm a 71-year-old healthy male on keto. I just discovered this and I am blown away by the taste and quality. A few times a day I'll take about an inch long line of the paste, put it in my mouth and let it dissolve. Yum. I haven't figured out how I want to incorporate it in my cooking... ... Two more wows. In reference to other reviews, each tube came in its own box, both boxes were plastic wrapped together, and there were no leaks.

This solves the problem of how to store tomato paste if you don't use the whole can. Delicious tasting, easy to add to recipes. Lasts a long time in the refrigerator, does not mold.
