Will these raise my heels just slightly to keep the back from rubbing?

Maybe slightly but they do protect the heel...only thing ...after my first review I tried the second pair...they dont stay stuck..meaning after one wear the next day they dont stick anymore ...super disappointed

I only see these used in high heels. Will it effectively work with dress shoes that are flats?

I bought them specifically for a pair of flats that were just a bit to big. They fixed my problem and it's actually the most comfortable pair of dress shoes I own.

How do they work in boots?

Yes, it does. But be aware of not sticking it to fur cover.

Do these work with nylons?

No they would slip out in fact they slip reguardless since it has a thin nylon like material on the insert itself. There is no grip whatsoever
