No. You have to have both gauges low and high then other factors of the system as well. Better off calling a HVAC company. Also need epa license to handle Puron and other refrigerants.

Residue in gauges won't blend refrigerant even a little?

If using a different refrigerant, then you should run some nitrogen gas through them to clean out the residual refrigerant, as it might contaminate Ur system.

I have a r22 Mastercool manifold and hoses. Can just buy the yellow jacket high and low gauges and swap them out?

If you have the space to handle the diameter if they come out at a 45 degree angle you probably would but if they come straight up out of the manifold you may want to measure closely if your current gauge heads are close to the diameter of the yellow jacket then obviously it would work also there are 45 degree adapters available that you probably could put on your current gauges to get those yellow jacket ones to fit if they were too small of spacing
